If he has any sense, he'll look at these results for GoW and realize that the Let's Play climate has changed. It's no longer about playing the big releases Day One, because he will never be able to keep up with the big boys who get the games early. Instead, he should focus on playing the games that suit his playstyle and interest, which in turn will engage, and perhaps even attract, an audience.

The average game content viewer doesn't want to tune in to watch a middle-aged man play games in silence or play games he doesn't enjoy. If the main demographic he appeals to wanted to see that, they'd just watch their dads, uncles, etc play.

He threw the same fit about Shadows of War. We are supposed to watch him and give him the views, and not those naysayer youtubers who give it negativity about lootboxes.

Edit: Speaking of Snort. Apparently Phil keeps his videos on harddrives because what if - okay - what if his channel get deleted, he loses all his videos or maybe Youtube will be gone some day.
So what, Phil? What then? Do you want to reupload all these videos? Content nobody will watch because (1) People already seen it and (2) these videos are old and (3) nobody cares anymore and (4) the potential ad revenue won't pay for all these harddrives.

Keeping backups of all of his Kahntent is pretty exceptional. I could see backing the LP's that his fans love like Heavy Rain but no one is going to watch him play through say Gears of War 3 or whatever years after the fact.

When he needs to shit on detractors, he says that they only doing it for the money...
When dsp could get something BUT IT REQUIRES EFFORT FROM HIS PART, then detractors dont monetize...

It all depends on the situation.

I.. honestly still don't understand why he's so obsessed w this leg ass REE archive tho... like I get that he keeps his videos bc his abject narcissism dictates to him that every moment of them are actually worth a shit, historical, & worthy of preservation for future generations. I get that part.

What confuses me about it is that he's far too fuckin hapless & lazy to actually re-upload all that trash. Even if amazon comes out with the nsa handjob of all uploading mechanisms, you're still talking like weeks, maybe months, of dedicated doing a thing. So ???

Because when he started YouTube 10 years ago you could only post vids that were 10 minutes at the longest. Since that's how he did it in 2008 it is obviously still what people want in 2018.

Even though Amazon is actually doing this, Phil's content isn't episodic or edited which means each playthrough is like 40 hours long and no one wants to watch that shit.

He's fucking delusional if he thinks people's attention spans in 2018 will mean they're going to sit and watch 40+ hour videos of some guy playing a video game. Livestreaming is one thing, but uploading entire playthroughs with no editing in 10 minute parts is pathetic.

I remember someone who interviewed Christ Chan speculated that there was more data/information out there about him from his life than some US presidents. With all the footage of Phil's gameplay, that might be the case for him, too.
