This post has it all. Multiple fake suicide attempts, going against a doctor's advice, need for a quick fix. He isn't trying to kill himself. If he was, he'd get a $100 20ga from a pawnshop and blow his brains out. He isn't even crying out for help, just for attention. He's already getting help and disregarding it. Anti depressents for 1 year, wow. How about trying different meds, different dosages, a combination. Working out medication can require a lot of time no matter if the condition is mental, physical, etc. Just like getting his dick cut off, he wants a quick fix to his problem. The first quick fixed has now caused a slew of problems. Maybe you should tell your therapist you're suicidal. You know, be honest with your doctor about your health so they can help. Appealing to reddit for a magic bullet solution is probably the dumbest thing you could do in this situation. Maybe appealing to twitter could be worse.

Posts like this are so perfect it makes me question how true they are. I like to think people can't be this delusional and shortsighted, but this entire website is a testament to the fact that they can.

People love to throw around the "half of all transgender people kill themselves" statistic, but when transition only seems to make their mood worse, nobody says anything.

I like how they use that word, "gatekeeping". Somebody with a broken arm or with a non-trendy mental affliction like schizophrenia or severe depression would never ever use that word. Nobody wants to have these things, they go to specialists to get rid of them or lessen their impact. This is especially true for mental illnesses as waiting lists for professional mental healthcare can be excruciating, still, these people don't use the term "Gatekeeping".

It's because they don't see their affliction as something of value. Why do you put things behind a gate? Because they are valuable or dangerous and you don't want just anyone to reach them. This is how they see their transtrending, as something valuable they want to have and they are being "kept away" from. Like a goal to reach, not something they always had. Nice slip up. They're not even aware of it.

/r/transdiy is now on 18+ mode after the news article in an attempt to save face, while the comments from brits are wondering where they can get their dodgy estrogen from now:

The pinned thread has some salt along with some troon "humor":

NB Troon gets busted ordering hormones online:

Also linked in the sidebar on transdiy is a guide called hacking the NHS and it's a goldmine. I saw this on the first 2 pages.

"darn gatekeepers trying to keep me from doing hrt REEEEE"

Meanwhile on transgenderuk OP's mom came into the room with a plate of chicken nuggets and....

The best comment chain though is literally "HRT or suicide"

If the pills would actually change gender, but they don't. They just fuck up the metabolism with quite complicated long-term effects, especially in somebody who's already going through hormone changes because of puberty. Especially when there's no doctor around to supervise all of it and intervene if necessary. There's a reason those guys study medicine, you know.

..and in the end all these guys are still males. Estrogen pills don't change that.

I don’t think it’s quite as deliberately calculated as that. Sure there are some troons who are autogynephiles like Guillaume LaBelle, and there are some who are dishonest like Jake Alley. But this doesn’t explain the explosion of FtM trans kids in the last decade.
Question: Isn't LaBelle a former gay dude? Same with Wu and Zinnia. Can they be considered autogynephiles?

Well gays can't be full blown agp because they are attracted to men, but they can have the other agp traits like narcissism, paraphilias, cross dressing fetishes etc.
Good point.
Dan Savage (a gay man who writes a sex advice column) once said that 'I remember stealing pantyhose when I was 14—I’ve never told anyone about this—and I enjoyed some exciting moments looking in a mirror while wearing them...I didn’t grow up to be a pantyhose-in-the-mirror fetishist.' That's pretty standard autogynephile behavior, but he outgrew it, and I feel like this isn't unique. I wonder what's up with that? I know some people say that fetishes are inborn, but I'm skeptical. Or, for that matter, what makes some little girly boys grow up to be happy gay dudes and some grow up to be troons?

It's most often a phase, though the social contagion is a big part of modern troonery.
