The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released its report today on its investigation into the Trump-Russia "scandal" and other aspects of the 2016 election. The summary at the beginning is the key to the whole thing, really. It spells out the findings in the report without having to go through all 253 pages of it, so just skim over those if you're looking for the gist without having to settle in for a few hours.

There's some awfully interesting information in here, so I'll just stick some of the more-relevant parts in a bullet list to give everyone a run-down:

As expected. The left needed a scapegoat for their loss because they couldn't admit their campaign sucked. This won't change anything, the mainstream narrative will remain dumb Russian conspiracy theories, because they've dug this trench too deep and also (funnily enough) can't admit they were wrong about Russian involvement. They wont accept fault/responsibility in anything.

The left refuses to organize economically disenfranchised whites around class interests. That is literally all they need to do (like Bernie tried to), but they would rather call everyone racist and sexist and infight over it than win elections. The Russia collusion narrative is what the dems decided to do instead, and it is super pathetic. Regular people don't give a shit about any of this.

I wonder what Finding 21 could be. Seems pretty serious if they decided to redact it before publication. Hope an uncensored version gets approved for release or leaked before 2043
Anything in this report that's heavily redacted like Finding #21 is likely only redacted because it's currently being reserved as evidence in a related investigation. Redactions are frustrating, but in this case we don't want to see them let out too early because it could put all of the other investigations at risk, so we just need to deal with an obnoxious bunch of solid, black boxes for a little while.

So this means that the Dems are going to stop pushing the Russia narative, right? ...Right?
We both know damned well that even when Robert Mueller himself comes out and says the investigation is over, none of these people will let it go, and they'll start screaming for a fiftieth investigation and they'll call Mueller a Russian stooge. I legitimately have no idea how to fix these people, or if that's even fucking possible.

It's a republican house committee so unfortunately we won't see an end to this soon. Maybe when Mueller finds nothing too? (Rates self optimistic 1000 times)

So what you are saying is that this guy did not have a hand in the election of Donald Trump?

How could he? He like, died in 1995........ I saw it happen!

But yeah, the left is going to go "Full Metal Jacket" on this, as in "Anyone who beats us is a Russian colluder! Anyone who beats us but leaves no discernible evidence of the Russian connection is a well-disciplined Russian colluder!"

The left refuses to organize economically disenfranchised whites around class interests. That is literally all they need to do

And they won't because they're so deep into their identity politics narratives that they cannot believe, with a near-religious zeal, that disenfranchised whites are a thing, they CAN'T be, ALL WHITES ARE PRIVILEGED!

I like to think of these people as the new holocaust deniers, or 9/11 truthers.
In about 50 years or so, hospitals and retirement homes will have rooms of geriatrics with danger hair, literally on their death beds, crowing about "the Russian hackers in the booths, it was HER turn!"
And I can't wait to see that.

Old Russian proverb: A fish rots from the head down.

The DNC has two options once this is all said and done. The first option is restructuring themselves completely. That means getting rid of the Feinsteins, the Pelosis, and anyone close enough to Hillary Clinton to have smelled her shitting her pants. Problem is, that covers just about everyone running the DNC. Getting rid of them would mean getting rid of any central organization that party has. That brings me to the second option, which is ignoring everything and pretending anything bad coming out of the DNC is just fake news cooked up by the Russians and their uneducated Republican troglodytes.

The DNC's instinct will be to go with option 2. The problem is, they're not dealing with a minor scandal. Their best chance at long term survival is to go with option 1, lay low, and wait for the anti establishment faction (Trump and his followers) to fuck up so they can present themselves as a viable option against what will by then be perceived as the ingrained establishment. But since the DNC has so much to lose, my guess is that they'll try and split the middle by getting rid of people like Pelosi and Feinstein and pretending like they've reformed.

I was literally in the car, listening to the radio, hearing some political talking heads say, completely straight-faced, that "Well only REPUBLICANS are saying there's no Russian collusion".

And then talking about how the Russian Lawyer "the Trump administration met with" (i.e. Trump's idiot son causing more trouble) called herself "an informant for Russia" and then I turned it off in frustration. They just absolutely refuse to let go of the hope, don't they?

I can counter the logic behind all of the DNC's conspiracy theories with a simple bit of logic. If all it takes to rig an election is some petty bribery and media manipulation, what's keeping billionaires like the Koch brothers or George Soros from just up and deciding all of our nation's leaders and laws? It can't just be Russia that plays this game. Either the entire election system in the US has been corrupted beyond belief and a hard reset button has to be pressed along with sweeping election reform or Russia didn't rig the election. Nothing that they've accused Russia of doing requires countless billions of dollars or an intelligence agency to pull off. You can hire good hackers to crack open the DNC's network and pull out Hillary's emails. You can pay a media manipulation firm to create propaganda and influence online discussion. The DNC should know this better than anyone else because this is the game they play as well. Remember shareblue and the pied piper strategy? This is the game everyone is already playing and to suggest that Russia is in the wrong because they're somehow just better than everyone else at it is pretty ridiculous.

TLDR: The DNC is mad because they claim that Russia t-bagged them in a competitive game of election rigging Halo.
