Honestly, I know I'm going to sound stupid, but Anita, although, her videos add nothing new to the feminist world, does not deserve to be death-threated. I've watched most of her videos and even though I disagree with some of her viewpoints, does not warrant rape threats. (I know about the money issues, but I think I've seen worst wastes of money. Dashcon, Brony-island)

I've played Depression Quest and as someone who suffers from depression, it was OKAY. I do think that Ms. Quinn should step away from the spotlight for a while and her ex-boyfriend sounds like a Lolcow himself.

NOBODY, NO MATTER WHAT SIDE THEY'RE ON, NEED TO BE HARASSED. This whole Twitter thing just brings out the worst citizens of Internet. (:_(

Pretty much this- and this is what is annoying me the most about this whole clusterfuck.

I don't agree with Anita on a lot of things. I don't agree with Quinn. And I especially am greatly disappointed in more than a few of those in game journalism for out and out verbally attacking people that aren't going to stand idly and let them play in their big ol' clubhouse and *gasp* expect them to act like journalists and show some integrity!

All the same: as much as I really can't stand a lot of these people right now. Death threats, threats of violence, threats of rape, etc. is completely unacceptable, irregardless of what side you're on in this thing. This extends to Youtube commenters being harrased over the phone, and 10-year-olds being doxxed and threatened with violence because they don't accept some SJW's point of view.

Not only does this make the people making these threats look like scum, but they're also ruining whatever respect we've garnered with people outside of the gaming sphere. Shit, we still have people trying to blame school shootings on games like Dark Souls (because that makes sense) because it's an easy target. Having assholes wishing death on groups of people because of fucking video games?

This isn't to say that videogames aren't important and aren't worth conversation - but fuck all, people. Do you really need to give the fucking talking heads over at Fox News and MSNBC more ammo against gaming as a whole?

HAH.

THIS is beautiful.
I want to wear this ironically, but these privileged shitlords won't make them for males assuming they can't be cute. which is ablesist and I won't stand for this CISBigotry.

Cisbigotry is my trigger word!!!

:cryblood::twisted::'(
We need to take a stand and have them make shirts for us will male body types.
Quick, gather the guys, we must now protest and stuff.

Audience had to ask questions via Twitter so nothing relevant could be asked. That's a serious shame.

This is exactly what I've been saying to everyone who asks me what I think about the whole thing. It makes it hard to hold an opinion in a situation where everyone involved is wrong on some level. It makes it harder when the opinion you hold is also held by people who think it's ok to make threats of sexual assault because someone disagrees with you.

Men critizing women = misogyny.
Women critizing women = internalized misogyny.
Women critizing men = empowerment! Down with patriarchy!
Do your homework. It is not my job to educate you.

I don't agree with what some of this guy has said but... he's covered this story more accurately than anyone else. By that I mean he actually covered the story. He called her out on everything. Not sure he should have mentioned the rumor about her planning to beat herself up at PAX. He did put emphasis on the fact it was a rumor though.

Shit may get real.

Aaaw, I'll bet Sailor Poon thinks she's smart.
Nah, she just wants to earn favor with her lord and savior, Anita.

What bothers me the most about this whole thing is that everyone involved should be better than this. These people are adults but here we see them banging to promote a glorified flash game and leaving death threats to anyone who is not okay with that. I am glad this hasn't gotten any television coverage because honestly, it's embarrassing.

Stop with the sexist generalizations, and stop pretending to be a victim. lol you MRAs are just pathetic.

Note: The above post submitted by NoMoreSleeping was a realistic mock depiction of the SJW etiquette that has spread to every corner of the internet. It was intended to be sarcastic yet informative, for edutainment purposes.

I have been lurking here for a few days, reading this thread.

Never heard of this site (or Wizardchan) until #GamerGate started.

That article is beastmode. On top of that, it is Breitbart, who DGAF what the SJW's think (meaning, it won't be manipulated or taken down. In fact, if they are asked to, I think the site will lolno), and it has now hit the mainstream.

Good stuff, and love the thread. Very informative. Thanks peeps.

It's worth noting that Breitbart has an infamous and deserved reputation as an incredibly unreliable source and one with a giant agenda to push. He's faced criminal prosecution multiple times because of it, and as such, we should take it with a grain of salt.

The mainstream press is definitely starting to notice. According to a friend of mine, one of the local papers up here did an editorial on it, and there was a newsblip on it on a few political blogs I'm familiar with. I'll be checking them out when I head out in about an hour, and if I see anything of note, I'll bring it back here for your perusal.

I'm going to do myself a favour and try to not get involved with this anymore. It's getting to be too embarrassing to be lulz-worthy. :c Guess what Fox news is gonna pick-up on.

"Vidya deemed responsible for hate crimes" :stupid:

Word. They are right wing conservative and they have some issues. All I am saying is the article hit the nail on the head, won't take shit from the SJW's, and is hitting mainstream now.
