UN Iran Nuclear Deal Based on Lies, Netanyahu Claims - Jewish Spies Stole Evidence of Lies. That's a new one.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed a cache of documents he says proves Iran lied to the world about its nuclear program for years, even after the 2015 nuclear deal with the world. "Iran did not come clean about its nuclear program," Netanyahu said in a prime time address in English. Iran, for its part, blasted the speech as "propaganda."

Presenting 55,000 pages of documents and 183 CDs, Netanyahu said Iran hid an "atomic archive" of documents on its nuclear program.

"This is an original Iranian presentation from these files," Netanyahu said, stressing that "the mission statement is to design, produce and test five warheads with 10 kiloton of TNT yield for integration on missiles."

Intelligence experts and diplomats said he did not seem to have presented a "smoking gun" showing that Iran had violated the terms of the agreement, although he may have helped make a case on behalf of skeptics in the U.S. who want to scrap it.

Iran is "blatantly lying" when it says it doesn't have a nuclear program, Netanyahu claimed, laying out what he claimed was proof Iran had developed and continued to develop its nuclear program.

At the press conference, Netanyahu exposed a secret Iranian nuclear project, codenamed "Amad," which he said had been shelved in 2003, though he said work in the field had continued.

"After signing the nuclear deal in 2015, Iran intensified its efforts to hide its secret files," Netanyahu said. "In 2017 Iran moved its nuclear weapons files to a highly secret location in Tehran."

The documents show that Iran's Fordow nuclear plant was "designed from the get go for nuclear weapons for project Amad," claimed Netanyahu.

"We can now prove that project Amad was a comprehensive program to design, build and test nuclear weapons," he said. "We can also prove that Iran is secretly storing project Amad material to use at a time of its choice to develop nuclear weapons." Dr. Mohsen Fakhrizdeh is the head of project Amad.

Netanyahu concluded by saying "Iran lied about never having a secret nuclear program. Secondly, even after the deal, it continued to expand its nuclear program for future use. Thirdly, Iran lied by not coming clean to the IAEA," he said, adding that, "the nuclear deal is based on lies based on Iranian deception."

A diplomatic source who spoke with Haaretz said that if the international nuclear watchdog had the details provided by Netanyahu on Monday then the Iran deal would never have taken place because the deal was conditioned on an IAEA report that cleared Iran of military nuclear activity. Iran reported there were no such activities and on the basis of those lies, the official said, Iran got a clean bill.

U.S. President Donald Trump, who spoke publicly 30 minutes after Netanyahu's speech, said that Netanyahu's speech "showed that I was 100% right" in criticizing the nuclear deal.

Prior to Netanyahu's conference, Trump spoke with Netanyahu over the phone on Sunday to discuss the current situation in the Middle East, the White House said. The reach out of their phone conversation stated that they "discussed the continuing threats and challenges facing the Middle East region, especially the problems posed by the Iranian regime’s destabilizing activities."

In a rare move, Netanyahu called the heads of Israel's two news broadcasts and updated them with the content of his planned statement.

Netanyahu spoke on the phone this evening with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel about the information he revealed concerning Iran's nuclear weapons program. Netanyahu's office said on Twitter that Israel "will send in the coming days professional teams that will share with Germany and France the detailed material Israel obtained on Iran's efforts to obtain a nuclear weapon."

Netanyahu also spoke to Russian president Vladimir Putin about the archive. The two discussed Syria and agreed to meet as soon as possible.

Netanyahu says he plans to update British and Chinese leaders soon.

Javad Zarif, Iran's foreign minister, said before Netanyahu's speech that the prime minister is just "the boy who can't stop crying wolf at it again."

Netanyahu's speech comes after an airstrike in Syria Sunday night in which 200 missiles were destroyed and 11 Iranians were killed, according to pro-Assad sources. Various reports attribute the strike to Israel, but the origin of the attack remains unconfirmed.

According to several Syrian media outlets, the strikes targeted the 47th Brigade base in the southern Hama district, a military facility in northwestern Hama, and a facility north of the Aleppo International Airport. The strike reportedly targeted an arms depot of missiles.

The strikes came as tensions increase between Israel and Iran in Syria and the U.S. deadline on Iranian sanctions regarding the nuclear deal, May 12, draws near.

Israeli defense and political sources told Russia and the United States on Sunday that if Iran attacks Israel from Syria, either itself or through its proxy, Hezbollah, Jerusalem will respond forcefully and target Iranian soil.

Later, Iran's deputy foreign minister said that the current terms of the Iran deal are no longer sustainable for them- regardless of whether or not the U.S. ends the deal.

"The status quo of the deal is simply not sustainable for us, whether or not the Americans get out of the deal," Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, according to Iranian news agency Isna.

Meanwhile, world leaders such as France's Emmanuel Macron and Germany's Angela Merkel have visited U.S. President Trump in an attempt to convince him to maintain the terms of the nuclear deal, termed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Trump spoke with Netanyahu, who vocally opposes the deal, over the phone on Sunday to discuss the current situation in the Middle East, the White House said. The readout of their phone conversation stated that they "discussed the continuing threats and challenges facing the Middle East region, especially the problems posed by the Iranian regime’s destabilizing activities."

Visiting in Israel Sunday, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the United States will cancel the Iran nuclear deal if it is not fixed. Pompeo made the statement following a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, which took place at the Israeli military headquarters in Tel Aviv, Pompeo said the U.S. stands with Israel against Iran. "We remain deeply concerned about Iran's dangerous escalation of threats toward Israel and the region," Pompeo said, adding that the U.S. supports Israel's right to defend itself.

Half a ton of files were delivered to Israel? That sounds to me like the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps delivered this material under the cover of all of those protests and uprisings in Iran that have been going on for awhile now. There is no damned way that Israel's spies moved half a ton of information on their own without someone noticing, that was an inside job. The IRGC must be at the end of their ropes with the Mullahs, if they're willing to shovel that much material out of the door just to get the Iran Deal hacked off their table, and if the Iran Deal goes, the Mullahs go with it.

The saddest part is that none of this information is even that much of a surprise. The Wall Street Journal reported on Iran retaining all of its nuclear documentation and its research scientists all the way back in 2014, and then Ben Rhodes and all of the Obama administration members tasked with making sure that the Iran deal went through no matter what happens fought like bats out of Hell to keep the story suppressed and to discredit every single word of it. Sadly, every single word of it still lines up with this information cache that just came out of Israel, so we just have to staple that to the growing list of "Reasons Why Signing the Iran Deal Was Stupid."

It definitely doesn't help that Iran has already had a pretty ugly history when it comes to lying to weapons inspectors that dates back more than 20 years, now. The part that I definitely find the most interesting--aside from what's clearly the IRGC fucking over the Mullahs, I mean-- is that Iran had all the opportunity in the world to destroy these documents. They've been sitting around for years, but Iran was just squatting on them to wait out the Iran deal for a few more years, so they could get right back to working on nuclear weapons, again.

Damn shame that someone managed to find all of those documents right as all of these world leaders are calling for an end to the Iran Deal, and less than two weeks out from Trump reviewing the paperwork to reconsider the Deal, isn't it?

It's some pretty big news, so it's no surprise that CNN's front page has been absolutely covered with these shocking revelations about how Obama's Iran Deal was both a complete failure and predicated on a lie, right?

So what sort of deal have the IRGC cut with Israel in exchange I wonder? I'm sure none of it was all out of the goodness of their hearts to expose corruption for truth and justice and such.

A lot of the IRGC members ended up defecting during the height of the Iranian protests, and they're still bleeding members out by the day over there. The protesters have a pretty surprising amount of support from people within the IRGC who just want to see the Mullahs gone, so it would not surprise me at all to learn that a few rogue members hoisted all of this intel to shove it towards the Israelis.

Not that I'd ever expect that we'd hear about that story, if it's even true. That's mostly just me speculating again, but that's an awful lot of evidence for a bunch of Israeli spies to offload entirely on their ow, and given how many members of the IRGC were bailing out not that long ago, I wouldn't really rule out the possibility.

Isn't ole Bibi under some serious investigation for taking/giving bribes?
In the same way that Trump's under investigation for colluding with Russia, Benghazi was just started by some YouTube video, and Assad dindu nuffin, sure. Until I look into something myself, I am well past the point where I can trust a headline any further than I can throw it. Someone needs to dig a grave already because journalism's corpse is starting to draw flies.

Edit: Don't assume I mean to say Netanyahu is innocent, by the way, I'm just taking petulant jabs at the media, as per usual.

I'm guessing there were some pissed off IRGC officers and nuclear engineers that got in contact with the Israeli intel agency and brokered a deal that if they could smuggle them and their families out of the shit hole that is Iran and to somewhere where they can disappear and start over, they'd give Israel all the goodies they want on Iran's nuclear program.

I remember during the height of the protests people were pointing out on twitter that on some air traffic tracking site there were a bunch of airplanes flying out of Iran with no call signs, destination or origin points. At the time people speculated it was high level government officials and the super rich elite fleeing to bunkers or out of country to protect themselves from a potential coup or government reprisal. In the light of these revelations though it's certain that mixed in with that were planes full of fleeing IRGC, scientists, Israeli spies, and crates of files and data on the nuclear program making a run for it while the time was right.

Netanyahu's entire argument isn't that Iranians have a nuke but that the Iranians can't be trusted, but the Iran deal was already made under that assumption hence regular inspections being part of the deal.

It would be weird that Iran coming clean was a requirement given America already knew of their program which would mean that the USA decided to go ahead with the deal already knowing one of its requirements wasn't fulfilled in the first place.

This did have a nice side effect for BiBi

Following a 20-minute presentation in which Netanyahu accused Iran of covertly pursuing nuclear weapons, reports emerged that the Israeli Knesset approved 62 to 41 the amendment to Israeli law regarding the authorization for the declaration of war.

The Knesset voted late Monday in favor of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's request to grant him the authority to declare war with only the defense minister's approval in extreme situations.

Sounds like they're gearing up for what they did to Iraq (1981) and Syria (2007) where they flew in covert airstrikes on those country's budding nuclear facilities. Only difference here is those sites were still under construction and never operational while Iran has had operating nuclear sites for years now and potentially has built nuclear research facilities in mountain bunkers with AA, anticipating an Israeli or U.S. strike on their program.

A leak showed his son revealing the details about him giving preferential treatment to businesses in exchange for political favors and bribe-money.

Guy has like 5 major corruption scandals around him.

I remember him trying to convince the previous Republican president about something similar.

This deal was the equivalent of a judge letting a meth addict build a lab for "scientific purposes." It makes me wonder what Obama and his cronies got out of this.

Informative page.

This was a show to make the public support the cancelling of the deal, that Trump was gonna do anyway.

Also it gave BiBi more Government power. The left-wing Haaretz is really pissed off.

All in all, it was successful.
Where in the good name of Christ did you find this source? This is legitimately one of the weirdest sources I've ever seen. Why is the Moon of Alabama: Where Barflies Get Together rambling about Israeli espionage?

He's kind of missing the point anyways, isn't he? Nobody (intelligent) was saying that Iran was continuing a nuclear program at the moment anyways, they were just saying that they were preserving the information at a later date. I do agree with whoever this is in the sense that I don't believe the Israelis actually got the information on their own, but apart from that this just looks like he's kind of misinterpreting all of the information by assuming that Iran was actively working on a nuclear weapons program.

Once you discount the fact that Netanyahu lied about how and where the information was obtained, everything still fits into place. I'm really not sure what this person is trying to say other than he lied, and that's... Kind of a given with Netanyahu, isn't it?
