Like, even as a adult, my parents STILL kept track of everything i did online. Minors have diminished responsibility but that's not the same thing as being virtually blameless for your own safety and well being. It would be really easy to play a double jeopardy on someone with a reputation as patchy as hers by saying they erased it, yes. Some of the most critically thoughtful advice I've ever seen given to Mel was that guy in the IRC logs that said the truth matters very little to people if she's flat out nasty to her supporters all the time and it's a mistake she may be paying dearly for if those logs never existed to begin with.

If they're gone I guess it's their word against yours and I can't argue that it wouldn't fit her character. But it'd still be so easy to have those logs still somewhere they can verify it.
