Bigot Brigade Something Awful and Friends - The roller-coaster train-wreck embarrassing downfall of a Web 1.0 giant and its tick offspring like from Cloverfield

Another games journalism thread got started and gassed. I’m not sure why the mods don’t just add a rule banning them, it would only take a few minutes.

Because the illusion of free speech is more important than outright banning speech that is disagreeable. The point of such a state is to try to force others to conform to your believes and/or eventually believe in them due to saturation in the social environment of particular views. If they were to dissolve the illusion of free speech completely, it wouldn't work.

Yep, in most cases the mods can count on the heckler's veto to kill threads they don't like by letting their buddies threadshit and empty quote it to death. Anyone who complains about is dogpiled with “Lol, imagine caring about goombergogger in 2018 lol”, even though gaming journalists still bring it up all the time.

I glanced at the blow up in QQCS over the thread being gassed and it was a few reasonable people asking why they can't discuss games journalism getting shit all over for being "alt right" "gamergate chuds" "misogynists" "Mens rights activists" among other things.

If the forums manage to outlast the current administrators there will probably be a seismic shift in posting once they finally fuck off. Similar to GBS 2.0 where people suddenly realize the terrible stereotypes that have acted as thought police for years have suddenly vanished and they can have normal opinions.

I haven't finished the QCS thread yet but from what I've read so far it looks like it was Lowtax who gassed the games journalism thread.

I disagree that outlasting the admins will bring change. Getting rid of Ozma and the cat ladies didn't change much. It's pretty much guaranteed that anyone who actually wants to be an admin will have an agenda.

They say it was Lowtax that gassed it and I'd be inclined to believe it if he had been posting at all the past few weeks, but he hasn't been so that really seems suspect to me. It's not like the mods/admins don't just make shit up on occasion, even if it was Jose who said it. He's one of the few that I think is decent but I get the vibe a lot of the idiots don't care for him too much and might be making him take the heat for it or something.

All that is me speculating though and shouldn't be taken as fact of course.

As soon as LowT got another twitter account he fucked off the forums and hasn't looked at them since. Believe me that. That's always how it worked. He hates the forums.

Since when can you express normal opinions on SA? Say something negative about trannies and/or communism and/or other liberal convictions, I dare you.

Definitely I've always wanted to see what goes down in the mod forum for a long time now, it'd probably give some legit insight into some of the shit that goes on.

I heard from slowbeef that it's almost entirely drama, pissing contests, and the same unfunny shit threads that FAU would make in any other forum.

So basically it's just another forum like all of the rest.

I loved GBS 2.0. Then it went back to shit GBS and I eventually left for Kiwi Farms, which according to the SA mods is a Neo-Nazi hate site.
