As a nethack fan it amused the piss out of me, eventually did play it some. Never got into Dwarf Fortress thank god. That's a bit too autistic even for me and I understood Chemistry in Space Station 13

and was probably one of the two factors that got Prions nerfed. I could easily get quite a few people infected just by making brain burgers with the vend-a-chimp's then feeding said burgs to the next vend-a-chimp, draw the blood and mix it with the party pills laying about the station, make pills out of the concacutions then leave the things laying about, I'd do that shit even if I wasn't traitor, in that case I'd sleepy pen you with the shit. God that dumb game was so fun if you understood it.

Going through all this bullshit with teleporters to get the Obsidian Crown and Ancient Armor which made you pretty much godlike in the amount of abuse you could give/take at the cost of sucking the life out of you stupid quick. Once you die if you're wearing it you become a lich running around the station wrecking everybody in a pretty robust way but you're not controlling it then.

The best part though was hearing people rage about the crazy shit you did that was with in the rules. I loved hacking doors the cool way via the wi-fi tool vs. the ugly fucking with the wires way that made it obvious what you were doing. I'd normally bee-line to the captains quarters to see if they were dumb and left the spare capt. keycard in their room. If that failed just bull-shitting who's running the place that gives you access to different departments or gives you replacement keycards and stuff. Hell half the people would give you full access without even asking and just tell you not to cause trouble.

I remember when gamergate was still a thing 4+ years ago (though with goons you'd swear it never ended) and SA
had a no gamergate discussion rule. Seemed like a sensible thing. Until I realized you could sperg about it all you wanted as long as you were loudly and viciously on the "anti" side. Mods would look the other way.

That and "It's about ethics in gaming journalism!" Became the hip thing for goons to screech at you if you said something they found problematic anywhere on the forum, gaming related or not.

Yeah, the containment threads were great and caused so much collective autism by just existing. For me that was the final nail in the coffin. If you can't handle something just existing on an internet and the owner just bends over like the bitch he is, why waste my time with such weak fuckers?

Another games journalism thread got started and gassed. I’m not sure why the mods don’t just add a rule banning them, it would only take a few minutes.

Because the actual rules in SA are never clear the posted rules haven't mattered in a decade. Also they're probably gassing the Games Journalism threads because people are mocking games journalists, which are almost universally progressive, so that's a no-no. Also, mods don't want the threads, but they want to see who is posting them so they can make a mental note who is saying what and ban them later.
