This nigga must have lost his goddamn mind. The mental gymnastics surpass simple gymnastics but now have become a kind of mental rocket fuel that could propel this incredible moron to fucking Mars.

It goes without saying but editing is a very time-consuming process. Even if you're doing simple edits, let's say a typical YT-style vlog with jump cuts and some fancy graphics, can take hours to do.

This incredible moron has no idea just what in the fuck he is talking about. I would love to see him explain this to any editor and see the reaction.

He is trying to keep it real, like those streamers like pewdiepie and Markplier do, when they say they are serious in this video. Of course they are still scum, but stealing from them is ok.

Editing takes time and effort, but the only way to get good at it is to do it. Phil's been doing this for a decade, and in less than six months of editing full time, any monkey can become more time efficient at it and gain a better understanding of what makes content worthwhile. It's not just time that's been wasted in Phil's last ten years, it's the potential for what content/money he COULD have been making if his vision had evolved one iota in that time.

He's been in a holding pattern for a decade, he'll be in a holding pattern until the day he dies, and it'll be all his fault when he does.

I agree. The burping in particular makes me stabby. These people pay his rent. Literally. No respect for himself & none for anyone else.

To be fair he's been gone a lot of that. He leaves the YouTube streams running while he's doing other stuff or while he's sleeping.

Yeah people were freaking out about it until Tevin came in and chewed them out. Made a point that doing that is just as bad as when people out detractors in DSP's chat.

Phil has discussed this before.

He could put the info on the screen but it would break the full raw immersion that his viewers know, love, and expect from his quality daily content.

I certainly stopped what I was doing for a min or two. But now that I think about it, its just watching the BSV/Icarus story arc all over again so I'm just gonna strap in and enjoy

I'd call Phil an artist for managing to make this a thing that people actually sit through and pay for. Scams truly are an art form.

It's just the latest iteration of "I'll be honest here guys" or "This is the god's honest truth". Naturally, his laziness means he had to make the phrasing shorter.

But now these games are totally cool, d00d.
Minecraft was so much fun and totally no handholding for even the smallest actions involved. MC basically prepared him for real life survival. I mean, now he knows how an axe looks like so he could create an axe ... after asking the chat again and looking at the crafting-sheet. And... and now he knows that glass is molten sand, I mean how would he know that beforehand, it's not like common knowledge or something like that, right? And after three attempts he could really build walls in a square shape now. And never forget how he learned how his mouse has also a right button or... or even that his keyboard has a spacebar, this is crazy! And how should a normal gamer know that torches can be placed at walls, in a game where you can place anything on everything? This was just a mind explosion of possibilities for these awesome cool open world games.

$40 for a mute switch ("cough button") that goes inline his microphone to his mixer (if he is even using a mixer, which starts at... $40?)

It would make his YouTube and Twitch easier to watch because he isn't squicking out his audience.
