The only ones I can think of are:

Peter Manuel: Well known in Scotland, raped some women, burglary and murder. Was executed in the 1950's.
Peter Tobin: Again Scottish and the most recent one in the press. The ugly old git is still alive and in prison.
Peter Kürten: The Vampire of Düsseldorf. Generally all around awful creature. He was executed in 1930's.

I doubt her Peter is any of these but I'll have another think.
