@Marvin gives context and history into the background of trolling Chris. It's actually really fascinating to learn more about the psychology behind Chris autism, history, and how it shapes his behavior. Are there any trolling plans you wish had succeeded, which failed? Any moments when you were surprised by Chris acting genuinely smart, even for a brief second?
When a ween sent Chris a laptop with spyware installed on it, Chris took it to Best Buy to get the hard drive wiped and the OS reinstalled. Chris cucked some ween out of a free laptop. Haha.
I thought Idea guy didn't give him money. Or was that the initial contact?
When I say "you need to meet Chris IRL to troll him", it has to do specifically with how Chris defended against troll attacks.
Chris didn't stay offline because he carefully analyzed each ween message, determined them to be trolls, and discarded their messages. No, Chris stayed offline because he refused to talk to anyone at all. If they weren't IRL, he just ignored them. It was a simple solution.
When people start paying Chris money, he's forced to at least read the messages. And if Chris is reading messages, and having to make judgement calls, he's going to fuck up sometimes, purely based on sheer numbers.
But Chris isn't even just sitting there, reading all messages in hope they contain money. Chris has learned pretty quickly to tell people to get to the point, and pony up money or fuck off. Not always, but better than you'd think. Of course, then some weens are going to start giving him small amounts of money to delay Chris blocking them. So they get Chris' ear for just a little bit longer, and that little bit might be enough of a window for them to befriend Chris.
If Chris gets 5k messages in a year, even if he's careful enough / greedy enough to successfully wring money out of them, close the deal and then tell them to fuck off, just 1% of them getting past his defenses is 50 potential dumbass troll sagas.
Chris simply can't be exposed to people who aren't significantly invested in not fucking with him. And by "significantly invested", I mean, full dox.
Also, you forgot Jessica, though that was reinforced by fucking YEARS of FB friendship, so to Chris, it was good enough to start it out and eventually meet IRL.
Yeah, Jessica Quinn was a weird case.
