TGWTG Hope Chapman / Jacob "Jack" Chapman / JesuOtaku - Self-loathing weaboo redneck. Blew her way to ANN gig. Goon and troon.

Years ago, JO established her online victim narrative by intentionally provoking notoriously unstable fandoms (particularly bronies) and crying foul when they responded. It was fun at first when she mocked the dreadful RWBY, but after months of going into how idiotic anyone who likes the show must be and crying over their cruel treatment of her, it became pathetic that she had to prove her intellectual superiority by denouncing obvious incompetence.
That's what ticks me off. JO just does this every six to ten months; finds a popular anime or something that resembles anime and just spends the next few months shitting on it. Then when the fans finally have enough and tell Jacob to fuck off as a whole, he goes protected and complains about the dogpiling.

The only difference this time is that it was a smaller than normal period between the initial condemnation and Jacob going protected.

APE (the organization that operates the Plantations, which are mobile biodomes containing the remnants of humanity) has forbidden sexual reproduction to the point that people aren't allowed to talk about it. 9a (the leader of the 9's, APE's personal defense group) said that gender was a mere annoyance that APE would have bred out of humanity entirely if Parasites (pilots) of different sexes were not necessary to pilot the FranXX units and that Kokoro's desire to have children to leave her mark on the world made her "absolutely disgusting." Ikuno (a lesbian) slapped 9a across the face for saying that gender wasn't necessary. APE ordered the 9's to round up Kokoro and her partner, Mitsuru, to have them mindwiped because APE considered them dangerous, probably because of Kokoro's desire to reproduce.
So what you're saying is that she probably didn't even watch the anime? Because her arguments don't add up to what you just gave us. It sounds more like a deliberate intention than an accident of tolerance leading to their dystopia.

It stacks up with what I said upthread that Jacob just picks a popular anime and dunks on it to drive traffic to his channel so he can claim harassment and farm pity points.

From what I can gather in the incoherent rambling (how is this person employed beyond the casting couch), the tldr is that everything Jacob doesn't like is alt-right.
More or less. This animu Jacob complains about is somehow heteronormative shit based off some long ass rambling. Meanwhile, everyone else is either seeing Jacob coming off as crazy in being upset over some Japanese cartoon or just sees this cartoon as just a cartoon.

He sperged about the patriarchy and right wing in an anime where the kids control the mechs by doing this...View attachment 455521

It aint that deep bro...
So it's all complaints over more or less a dumb fanservice anime? Jacob should probably just look into another cartoon to sperg over.

So to translate this weird ass premise: in the superior future, people have dangerous reproductive sex, some leader wished gender was gone if some robot unit didn't rely on different sexes, and reproduction is criminal activity. Regardless of whether or not this is truly the premise, it's funny to see someone get angry over a cartoon, one that could literally end up being obscure shit in the long run.

Jacob and Zac have been talking about FranXX on their podcast like they're watching it. Delusion can be strong.

So it turns out that a lot of people have already been mocking the show's "straight sex makes babies" scenes, which means JO doesn't even get any points for commenting on how hamfisted they are. He just decided to take it ridiculously seriously and call people who largely don't care about those parts alt-right.
Honestly, a lot of the clips I've seen makes FranXX seem like a ripoff of Vandread to me, but I haven't watched FranXX so take that for what it's worth.

See JO? That's what you do when you haven't watched an anime: you preface that you haven't and then state your opinion may be worth little for it.

Don't worry, its actually a shitty version of Aquarion Evol and/or Eureka Seven.

We don't know, and given that there are only six episodes left & that DitF has strayed away from developing its setting so much for teen relationship drama, we may not ever know.

What mecha show hasn't DitF been called a ripoff of at this point?

OK, I admit, this isn't my kind of anime (I personally like shows like Evangelion and Higurashi) but my bf LOVES this kind of shit, so he's currently watching this one. I have to wonder if Hope ever actually watched the show she's bitching about or if she's basing her opinion on a few screenshots. She seems to have "missed" a few things:

1: The guy (the pilot) and the girl(basically the control panel) play equally large roles in battle. Them working together is vital, and the guy relies on the girl just as much as she relies on him.

2: The leader of the protagonist's squad is a girl.

3: The mechs they pilot are some of the girliest things I have ever seen, and I grew up watching Sailor Moon.

I haven't seen FranXX but from what I can tell, if you're gonna dunk on it? Do it for apparently being a shit version of Mamoru Nagano's manga The Five Star Stories but tbh I don't think Jacob knows what FSS even is so. Which is fucking hysterical when you think about it- he's an anime journalist, yet doesn't know of one of the most acclaimed sci-fi manga of its time and famously helped carry Newtype Magazine.

Its not anywhere near what FSS is

JO doesn't give a shit about stuff before his generation.
He never cared about Devilman but it's praising Netflix's Crybaby because it's pro-LGBT and all the allegories about being a Devilman and discrimination and fear of coming out(if an anime has that, anything is already a masterpiece to his eyes...),even though that was already one of the main points from the original manga story from 46 years ago(which is now getting an official North American release thanks to exposure of Crybaby.I recommend it) and most of the stuff that makes Crybaby great is thanks to Go Nagai as much as it was Masaaki Yuasa, but JO tries to minimize Go Nagai's credit...

So what Hope anime/mana are we sure she like?

She's a diehard fan of the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist anime and considers Brotherhood to be vastly inferior (because apparently having dark themes automatically equate to a good series, even if the execution and story is fucking awful).
