Official Vaporwave Thread - ~A E S T H E T I C~ (feat. Future Funk, Synthwave, Mallsoft, etc)

Copying this from the Bandcamp thread:
This album, in my opinion, is vaporwave's magnum opus. It takes new age music and vaporwave and sticks them together to create a very immersive and deep album. It sounds like you are exploring the ruins of Tokyo underwater. If you like vaporwave in any form check this out.
Aside from bumping up an older thread, I see someone posted a video questioning the current situation with vaporwave with a recent release....
The main album he is talking about in the video actually came out in 2014, during vaporwave's peak.

Thanks, I wasn't sure of these things since I'm not too fully into the vaporwave stuff than a passing glance at some tracks. I did kinda dig the use of that still shot of what I think is Amuro Ray from Gundam 0079.

Kinda new to this genre, I found a few pieces of Egyptian photography and artwork that look quite nice in a vaporwave-ish way (source):

My personal favorite vaporwave album.

This song especially:

Iacon - DESIRE

I found this album called Late Night Fuckin Yo' Bitch released in 1995 by late composer DJ Screw.

The way the music is composed and slowed down reminds me of vaporwave in a lot of ways and keep in mind this CD album was released in 1995 atleast 15 years before Vaporwave was even a thing.

I think it's best to say that DJ Screw style of music could be the progenitor of Vaporwave. God speed DJ Screw!

so is vaporwave fuckin dead or not?

Not really- it's just an older form of music. I remember in 2011, that was when the Macintosh 420 Plus song came out and it kind of kickstarted the movement.

This one was made as a joke for SiivaGunner, but it's surprisingly good.

Normally I hate when people slow down songs and call it vaporwave, but this one sounds great.

This one is catchy.
