Dobson and the rest of the SJW crowd honestly don't understand why knowing your enemy is useful. If they were honestly read on the arguments white supremacists make, they'd know that persecution has been for a long time a core part of their ideology, and by engaging in persecution of their ideas rather than the honest dismantling of the same in a debate or public forum they are reinforcing white supremacists in their belief that the white race is being attacked.
It's absolutely no coincidence neo-nazi groups spiked in activity shortly after the rise of social justice as we know it now; the supposed "activists" don't just attack white supremacist groups in their crusade, but regular people that at best make gaffés in front of the wrong person and get attacked for it. Suddenly the crazy skinhead claiming that "anti-racist is a code for anti-white" doesn't sound so crazy.
I'm sure it is some kind of indictment that nazi ideology is more convincing than the political left's, but oh well. Let fatso think he's being useful for once.

Dobson clearly doesn't understand that most of the actual Nazis that were alive during WW II, if any are left alive, are now well into their 90s, and that "Nazis" of today DID NOT LIVE THROUGH WW II. It makes a difference when a person doesn't live through the era of the decisive battle.
He also doesn't understand that this isn't about DECIDING who is right. It's about trying to convince people who are wrong, that they're wrong. It's also about trying to steer people out of that direction that may not be there yet but if something isn't done, they will drift that way. (Dr. Jordan Peterson said he's been able to steer a number of disaffected young men AWAY from the Alt-Right.) Nor does he understand that by trying to "suppress" an idea by "shutting it down" only drives the opinion underground, where it can fester and grow despite Dobson's naïve idea that by silencing and suppressing it that it will somehow go away. Sunlight is the best disinfectant to a poisonous ideology. Obviously, people who continue to hold Nazi opinions (or anything remotely like it) haven't been convinced that they're wrong, yet. True, there will be some that can't be convinced. But what is Dobson proposing to do with such people? Firing squad? Concentration camps? Forcing them into homelessness so they can starve on the street once exposed? How will starving them and firing/dispossessing them cause them to realize they're wrong? I'm genuinely curious.
After all, isn't oppression the way people start to think they're right rather than wrong? Their reasoning is, if it were so obvious that Nazism is wrong, why would the powers-that-be be working so hard to make sure nobody hears it? It fosters a victim/oppressed mentality similar to that common among the IngSocJus crowd, including the whole martyrdom complex, and that's NOT a good thing.
Anywanna point out to Dobson that at one point, it was Civil Rights that was considered to be "wrong", already decided, and thus not on an equal footing with Segregation?

Anybody else seeing the irony (and hypocrisy) in Dobson stating that Nazism's defeat in WW II "proved it wrong", when Dobson has also previously said that he's a pacifist and that Might Does Not Make Right? Also, what would it mean if the Axis HAD won in WW II? Would they have been proven right? Good lord, Dobson's just so stupid it boggles the mind. Like, legit, exceptional stupid.

For a while I was sure that Dobson possessed a shred of self awareness and was constantly deflecting criticism so he could keep pretending that he wasn't the buttsmear his consciousness reminded him he was. But you know what? I think I was very wrong. He really has no goddamn awareness at all. Not a microbe of it. That's pretty amazing.

Because, in Dobson's IngSocJus-warped view, even allowing Nazis to speak is support, because of course, 'only a Nazi would want Nazis to be heard'!
Plus muh feelings of muh IngSocJus Senpai because Nazi speech "hurts" them or something.
It's really weird, because it gives the impression that anyone who's heard Nazi ideology will be instantly converted to Nazism. Dobson's likely heard legit Nazi viewpoints once or twice, why wasn't he converted? Trying to shut it down at every turn by speech suppression gives Nazism (real or alleged) the de facto aura of being extremely convincing and appealing.
