What real company cares about employees getting doxxed? Getting dox is mostly a problem because you are worried about what you say online being associated with your real name. I would think a company would be more concerned with what exactly you’re posting online that has you so terrified it being associated with your name and worried the company could be tarnished by an employee acting like a unhinged sped online.

I think a lot of that makes sense if you view him as a 13-14 year old boy. Like someone said earlier, he's a man closing in on 40 clinging to an embarrassed 13 years old kids claim to never having masturbated or looked at nudie mags and he's totally not into any girls. I've started to wonder if something specific happened in Jake's life at age 13-15, somewhere in that vicinity.

There's this plotline in 30 Rock about a teacher (female) who commits statutory rape with a student (male), both believing themselves to be in love. Decades later, when the teacher gets out of prison, she finds that the student has become an adult living in a permanent state of adolescence, obsessed with comics and superheroes, unable to form meaningful adult relationships.

Something arrested Jake's development in a very similar way, and it shows. The "I've never masturbated, don't even know what that stuff looks like" lie. The sneering at alcohol, or adult ways of having fun. The childish interests he can't move on from (even as the cousins he played with move on to more grownup lives). The avatar of a young child being used to represent his secret, true self. The paranoia that if you don't want to have sex with anyone at all, people will try to coerce you into realizing that you're a sexual being by forcing you to copulate (even if you almost never leave the house). The way that "teenager" in his tweets is almost always accompanied by the words "stalk" or "groom" or other sexualized, predatory terms.

I think it may have but not in the way you mean. We know that his early teenage years were when he stopped seeing his father. We also know that he ferociously resents many things about his early childhood.

I suspect that his early to mid-teens were a bit of a honeymoon period for Jake, a time when he envisaged a positive future. We know that his cousins were still around and that he spent a fair bit of time with them. He missed them deeply as they left to pursue their destiny, and I suspect that in many ways he's been trying to recreate that happy, carefree, "gonna change the world" period ever since. His arrested development is his refuge now. To try to move beyond it is to admit that he's failed and that his adult years have been lived in a fantasy.
