now that i think about it, Yandev made a critical mistake.

Since Yandere Simulator is basically "youtuber-bait" it probably has a lot of casual fans who don't care about Yandev as a person and just want to follow the game, because of that, a big chunk of them have no idea about the kiwifarms and all the drama.
Now that he blocked youtube comments and went on a damage control rampage, some of those fans are going to investigate what the hell is going on and they are going to find anwsers sooner or later.

Yandev weakness is that he is not Chris Chan. He is not an obscure internet figure some people know, he is actually a semi-famous """gamedev""" making a popular game. The backlash of his actions are way bigger and i cannot wait to see how this ends

Probably just the "update-effect". Adding another meme (Scooby Gang) put him into FOV again, and you have to keep in mind, that most people only know him from the youtube videos he puts up (:powerlevel:I was the same until recently), and he's a perfect angel, if a bit incompetent dev on there. That's why I think disabling comments was the worst thing he could do - people won't always read the comments, but the "comments disabled" message reeks of drama, so people will head over to reddit/amino/yahooask/whatever and learn about his misdemeanors.

His biggest mistake was leaving a trail that connects YandereDev to EvaXephon (I think it was his twitch which he initially shilled on 4chan?). None of this would've happened if he had just burried EvaXephon in the past and severed all ties to that persona. Unless some autist went digging really deep and fished out his photo's. Even then, he could handle it... semi-gracefully like Linkara did. Everyone knows that guy jacked off to fucking M&M's porn yet it didn't destroy him.

Also, I said this earlier in response to the question something along the lines of "when will this game finally end?":

Mmm... I like to guess that by 2020 or even next year this game will be nothing but a joke to a large majority of the fanbase. I also predict that YandereDev will become a meme for content creators once that actually happens and you'll be hearing "____ will happen when Yandere Simulator is finished" jokes. Pretty of me there.

The other prediction is probably 2023, 2025, 2030, or somewhere within. By then Dev will no longer be able to excuse his procrastination. If that day comes, prepare for chaos in this fandom

I'm starting to think that my first prediction is a lot more possible now than before.
