One time, I read a post that said something like "when you see non-fetish work by a (fetish) artist where one certain area is highly detailed and well-drawn compared to everywhere else" and seeing that mouth, I think the post has never been more true.

the creator of Ava's Demon has been accused of drawing her underaged characters in porn and then she offered to pay $500 for the IP of the person who said she was drawing porn.
i haven't seen any proof that she draws porn of her underaged characters but people are getting riled up
if it is true, then this would definitely qualify as a bad webcomic

i wouldnt say that makes it a bed webcomic, just a bad webcomic creator
on a side note, is the creator a lolcow? or known for being a bad person? idk why but a lot of ppl on tumblr have some kinda "yikes" reaction to ava's demon and it's creator. i wouldnt say they hate her, but they react to it the same way they react to, say, pepe the frog or something, like saying "this is an infamous bad thing and yall should know it by now" and dont really add anything

Honestly, the controversy has seemed like a huge overreaction.
The porn wasn't even drawn by the creator, it was by one of the colorists she hires. The characters were aged up, it's pretty misleading to call it porn of "underaged characters" or "child porn" as a lot of people have been throwing around on Tumblr. The character in question is supposed to be short and petite teenager in canon, and if the censors are any indication, it seems she's supposed to be much more developed, so to speak, in the picture.
The creator mostly keeps to herself, but she occasionally gets shit for innocuous stuff that riles up Tumblr. She's gotten harassment in the past for having a character use "virgin" as an insult because its offensive to asexual people, apparently.

The porn is offered on her $15 Patreon tier, which you need to be 18+ to pledge and view. Some teenager threw a fit about this rule, got their friend to access the porn for them, then proceeded to plaster it all over tumblr, along with a revenge campaign.
Michelle is offering a cash reward for the IP address of the people involved so she can block them from her website, which tumblr thinks is AGAINST THE LAW because she's going to DOXX THEIR ENTIRE FAMILIES. She was already problematic for drawing her own personal 16-year-old characters in sexy situations, because teenagers don't have or think about sex ever.

I've been keeping tabs on this, and calling the drawings child porn or whatever tumblr is saying is a huge stretch. What confuses me is more that she's being unprofessional about such petty drama and shooting herself in the foot by making things up in her response. The person who called her out is apparently over 18, was a paying patron, and Michelle already has their email to block them from patreon (one of the receipts of the callout is them having a conversation via email) so setting up a reward to find their email doesn't really make sense to me. (Also, I can't help but think 500 dollars is a lot to pony up to get some kid's email/IP.)
She has a huge dedicated fanbase that has been protecting her throughout this controversy, so she definitely could've done much better damage control by making a public statement and leaving it at that instead of even indulging this stupid callout drama. Apparently this isn't her first time handling 'discourse' about her work in an unprofessional way (but I'll have to see if I can find any receipts on that).
