I am surprised, too. I would expect the people who make derivative children's faerie stories for an audience of callow "adults" who refuse to grow up and take an interest in more sophisticated culture to be intelligent, cultured, and respectable. I guess I was wrong there.

The old schoolers actually were. They were middle class family men. Some well educated, others self taught but always learning. Their driving goal was to create good sellable stories that put a roof over their families heads. Other than Satan Lee probably the best documented of the old schoolers on camera was Frank Frazetta. If you get the chance watch the full length Painting With Fire documentary on him. It really brings home the difference between the old guys and these modern twits.

It always starts the same way: Some dumbass cuck giving in too much. This is what the end point looks like: An industry full of people who hate the industry and who systemically fail to meet obligations, then treat those obligations as personal attacks. Tess is pretty much the perfect embodiment of why fucking Comicsgate happened, as well as an example of what happens when Social Justice fully infests a fandom, to the point where it's able to get into a position of authority over the people who actually matter - the final stage of the cancer, if one will.

This is someone who, despite having almost no actual merit, managed to weasel her way into a position of untold influence in the comics industry, to the point where they had reach, if only behind-the-scenes, rivalling the biggest names in Comic Books, and leveraged this fucking power solely so she can agenda-push, while basically accomplishing nothing of value, interest, or note. I can virtually guarantee that you have never seen or even heard of any of the works she's actually done, and this is for the best, as they are absolute shit and deserve nothing but ridicule.

This is the kind of world these psychopaths envision.

I'm reading through Tim Byrd's account of working with Tess, and I find it utterly fascinating that someone like this even has clout within the industry. She's like John K. in terms of work ethic, blaming other people for her not bothering to do any work. There was one section of Byrd's account that really stood out to me though. It was when he talked about the old artist for Doc Wilde, Gary Shalone, resigning.

Crushing news from Down Under: Gary Chaloner resigns as the Doc Wilde artist. Trying to fit Frogs into his schedule proved a hardship, leading to it being finished a year later than initially advertised. He had, nonetheless, stood by his word, pressing on until the book was done. And it was gorgeous. Losing him was heartbreaking and demoralizing. But, at least I’d already established a relationship with his possible successor.

I offer Tess Doc Wilde and The Mad Skull, putting the anthology on the back burner. She accepts. We agree to get the book out by Christmas.

Gary Shalone got the book out later than anticipated, but the difference was he actually gave a shit. He, like a real professional, did his absolute best to try and get it done despite schedule problems.

Contrast that with Tess, who completely flakes out on doing the work and dismantles the working relationship between her and Byrd. She makes little to no progress due to unrelated stuff and sheer laziness. It says a lot that Shalone had scheduling issues as well yet still put his best effort into it where Tess uses it as an excuse.

Compare her stuff on the top to the stay woke picture. This lady is a poster child to the corrosive effect of SJW ideology. She should be striving to perfect her craft, to take the clear talent exhibited in the first two pictures and make something masterful. Something everyone no matter their politics or background will look at and say "wow!". If the art is good, people won't care about the message behind it. Its why even atheist fedora lord's can look at the Sistine chapel in awe.

But she subscribes to an ideology that demonizes that kind of individual ethic and excellence. It would mean rising above her other "woke" peers and making them feel bad for not being as good as she is. It would also take time away from being a horrible person on the internet and her woke political activism. It is clear what her priorities are.
