Sophie seems to have got it in her head that big eyes are cute. Which they can be, if drawn expressively. If you don’t know what you’re doing, though, they just look dead and thus creepy.

And it doesn't really help when one looks like they're high out of their mind on coke and the other looks like LaBellend had no idea what to do.

The "busy" background also complicates matters.
 
Just had a loot at that "Nice gender!" comic on etsy. yep, it's full of strips that she's already put up on tumblr. That you can read for free.

Seriously, she's only ever done two original (as in non-web, purchase only) comics.

That title honestly just sounds very cruel. It's as if Sophie is belittling and antagonizing children who identify as their biological sex, which is incredibly hypocritical for somebody who claims to be supportive of children.

That's a major problem with all of Sophie's comics, though. Even if you're somehow insane enough to believe the same dogma Sophie does, you would have to be a sociopath to not see that Sophie's comics regularly portray cis people as innately evil, hateful, and something to be despised or resented.

Not to say it's impossible to portray a given demographic (such as transgender people) as oppressed and giving encouraging messages without portraying another group as collectively evil. Nearly all children's books who portray this sort of scenario has a singular character who's the "bully," and is meant to represent this group of people. That way you can present these scenarios without suggesting that an entire group of people are this way rather than just individuals within said groups. But Sophie's comics regularly feature one-off cis people (who are introduced unceremoniously and are never seen again) that are needlessly cruel to trans people, solely because they're cis; this makes it seem as Sophie believes that cis people are naturally prejudiced and cruel, and would harmfully brainwash a child into believing the same if they were to read it.

Of course, the fact that Sophie also has a character who mocks cis people just for being cis doesn't help. Ultimately, Sophie is guilty of the same fear and hatred they claim other people have for them.

As I've mentioned a few times in this thread, an arc implies that a character goes through a major change at some point in the story.

The only change I've seen any of these characters go through is made possible by Stephie's gaslighting and mental abuse, so not even sure it could be considered such.

Instead, it's Guillaume's self-insert who is the bully, yet you're supposed to approve of this hateful asshole. "Nice Gender. Did your mom pick it out for you?" Nice way to treat children just for being normal and not freaks.
