My one hope is the AC officer would tell Amber that Twinkie's nails are too long and explain how that hurts her, so Amber would finally be hearing it from someone who isn't a haydurr.

To be clear I don't believe anyone here at KF called the animal cops or was suggesting it, or expected Twinkie to be rescued. We realize how the system works. I think A is so against keto because the boys are (were?) doing it and being successful. We all know if she started that diet she would fail miserably, as usual. It's mostly because Aunt Tammi lost a ton of weight on keto. Tammi, her husband and in-laws all dropped hundreds of pounds doing it. Instead of being inspired by it, AL is bitter.

In Canada we literally get a ton of dogs shipped from many southern states yearly because they find homes easier up here and we don't really have the stereotypical white trash family leaves dog outside all the time endemic, at least not as often.
This is why CWC still has his beagles despite them being overweight, poorly socialized and untrained. They're being fed and not being beaten so it sucks but none of these lolcow owned dogs are going anywhere

Would animal control really know something like that to even tell her? They mostly respond to calls to pick up strays or trap wild animals that are posing a threat to themselves or others. They aren't vets or vet techs.

Animal control is a fucking joke. I lived in a really bad part of town for a few years, had to call a lot. I found a kitten with a broken jaw in a yard with like 6 overflowing cat boxes, AC took the kitten but didn't do anything else because no one would answer the door when they knocked. They only care if someone got bitten.

How many seats would she take up? How many people would she irritate during rush hour? She can't manage a gentle trot at Walmart. She can't even seem to manage the parking lot anymore, judging from how Becky has been dropping her off at the door (her not knowing where the car is parked when they come out of stores lets me know that's a pretty regular thing). There's no way she could handle public transit. She'd have to take the bus for disabled people everywhere. (They exist in my city, but I don't know if they're a normal thing)
