no word on whether there was a collaring ceremony or if that was enough humiliating June's parents for one day.

So much for "marriage is for normies and we don't want to make a big deal of being engaged"
Someones parents has some money to burn
June's folks, Greg had a tweet thanking her dad for throwing the party.

Does Greg even have a thread here? If he doesn't, I would've suggested adding him onto Shoe's thread cause of the marriage. However, the guy definitely seems to have a lot of overlap outside of just Shoe, such as the Atheism gang before Atheism+ hit, Jenny McDermott, Skeptic Community, etc.

I could have sworn Shoe uwu left comments in the videos defending Greg, tho I can't seem to find them. Might've been different videos.

There's nothing wrong with celebrating an engagement. It's a happy and fun thing to celebrate, after all.

It's the whole "Disgusting vanilla normie" mantra they've been expressing prior to this that's making me side-eye at these pictures (which are otherwise nice and normal pictures of people celebrating and having fun).

Being a "vanilla normie" ain't such a bad thing, if you ask me.

Eh, I think most people here are just teasing a bit.
Though honestly, it's true how Greg looks like he didn't really bother to look special for the event, unlike June. I won't tell the man how to dress, but for your own damn engagement party, you should at least be more presentable...

Nothing wrong with being normal, ever read the old 'Annon become a normie' greentext?

In all seriousness, good for them, Greg looks underdressed, or possibly shoe overdressed, but eh, what evski

Tbh I feel like Greg just doesn't give a shit about this engagement and hasn't since the beginning. The day he and June got engaged, while she was posting pictures of the ring and happy-crying selfies, Greg was quick to tell everyone they were only getting married because they didn't think they'd be able to live together otherwise. It came off as very "don't worry guys, I'm not becoming a sellout normie!" Dude won't even call her his fiancee and keeps hitting on camgirls so....

Their entire dynamic is built on interactions like this though. Shoe being exciting about things with Preg, and Preg brushing it off. It's sad and laughable at the same time.

The whole "uwu our relationship is so complex you vanilla normies will never understand" is an obvious front to hide all of the cracks in their VERY PUBLIC relationship... You'd think the engagement would be a means of smoothing everything over, get Preg off his ass to start a real life with Shoe, make him stop hitting on camgirls, buuuuut no. At this point, there's no question about whether party actually cares enough about the other: they don't. They both will realize they made a mistake when Preg does some very obvious cheating - beyond the camgirl shit - or when they're both too old to do anything about it.

But they're so rational! They have to have transcended mere human emotions like jealousy and loneliness, right?
