Intuitive eating is supposed to be about paying attention to how well you function depending on what you eat, like if you eat sugary bullshit and feel terrible that is a sign to stop, or if you eat a breakfast that is too small and you over eat at lunch to compensate then it's a clue to eat more in the morning etc. It is helpful for people who are anorexic or bulimic. It doesn't really work well on someone who is 500 lbs because she feels like shit basically always regardless of food choice, it's not going to change much until she loses quite a bit of her bulk.
