Friendly neighborhood con reminder on what the proper toiletries are for acceptable hygiene that isn't spraying Axe everywhere.
I've never been to one of these things, so this might be a naive question, but are the hygiene standards of the average person who attends one of these so fucking bad that the organizers actually need to instruct grown adults how to not be disgusting?

I see those who already hate Chris are trying hard to push the narrative that he was acting like a dangerous nutter running round a con groping and kissing all and sundry.

When the facts as we know them (from this thread, which is all I've read) are this: Chris was at the con, people were asking him for selfies, he'd put his arm around them for the selfie and sometimes try to peck them on the cheek.

Perhaps I come from another time but it's nothing. The arm is completely innocuous (remember, we have no reports of groping arses or whatever). The kiss is perhaps too much for some but like the guy in the Tweet you just pull away and laugh.

Chris was let into the con for free by the higher ups, he caused problems, they warned him (whether in person or online is kinda irrelevant because they didn't have to, but it seems like in person), he kept causing problems, they told him to GTFO. There is an argument that people should have just told Chris off in person rather than reporting it to management, but cons attract spergs who don't do conflict, and, autism or not, Chris is a 36 year old man who has been pulling this shit and being told to stop for over a decade. It sucks, and millenials can be snowflakey as fuck, but society has decided that slobbering on people's faces when they don't want it is not ok, and the con is gonna protect their ass when multiple people come up to them complaining that a hobo in a wig is acting inappropriately.

If I may play devil's advocate here for a second: It's very likely that Chris had such a good time and enjoyed the company that he got carried away and started being more touchy-feely, though not necessarily in a "I WANT YOU TO BEAR MY KIDS" way like he did Megan and Emily, but because he thinks that's how girls behave, all giggly and kissy like that.

And yes, because autism as well.

The giant Mii ID card, the stockings, the lack for respect of personal space, the thousand-yard stare, etc.?

That somebody would willingly touch Chris Chan in the first place.

It's not that Con-goers are inherently filthier than the average Joe (but they probably are), it's that many of them have limited money after spending on gas and con passes, so they sleep in their cars to have spare cash to buy stupid shit.

sounds like my troon former coworker who now calls everyone "hon" and talks about shopping 24/7. Also spends all of her money on toys. Just like Chris only has a job (equally as lazy though).

Yes.

It’s not at all uncommon to see people on day 3 of a convention wearing the same clothes as they were on day one. Add to that the idea that a lot of your spergier folks don’t understand the concept of “deodorant”, then pack ‘em all into a cramped exhibition hall with less than adequate ventilation.

And there is more of the anti-Chris narrative I was speaking about.

The first part is irrelevant (let in free, etc.)

Some is currently unknown (we don't know if Chris was warned beyond a FB message he's acknowledged. No-one has been able to say 'Yes, I went up to him and said...'. It follows then that we don't know what was said, if anything. We don't know what was reported, in what way it was reported, how many times it was reported or what was their intention in reporting.)

Some is untrue (though Chris has had boundary issues in the past none have involved the specific instance of people seeking out his temporary company at a con to take a selfie. So he hasn't been pulling this shit for a decade. It has nothing at all to do with his touching of Megan or the Wallflower or Catherine. It's a peck on the cheek to people who he can only suppose like him enough to ask for a selfie.)

Some is invective (slobbering on faces, hobo in a wig, etc.)

So apart from disliking Chris and wishing to see the worst in anything he does I don't see much valid content in your message.

Perhaps unsurprisingly the list of Dislikes/Disagree etc. to this comment reads like a list of people who hate Chris (for reasons I've never understood), some of which have been pushing the exact narrative I was talking about.

Chris can save himself trouble and make money at the same time by going back to the basics. Put an attraction attractive sign on his table saying: " Autographs $2. Selfies $5. Selfies with hugs $10. Peck on cheek extra, $20." If there's a dollar value put to it, Chris ain't giving it away for free. There are probably people who'd pay for a picture of that.

Gross. Not that I ever wanted to go to one of these things, but now I certainly don't. Do these mongoloids at least wipe after shitting? You know what? Never mind, I sincerely don't want an answer to that question.

Chris didn't pay into the con. ->The con didn't owe him shit, even ignoring the rules, so he doesn't have much room to complain.
One of the con managers (the one who got him in) confirmed Chris was spoken to in person. He was pretty wishy-washy about it, so there's definitely debate to be had, but I'd say that thinking he is telling the truth is just as, if not more valid than believing Chris saying otherwise. Chris has ignored plenty of warnings in the past, and this con is well established enough that I would be surprised if they hadn't warned him.
Chris has gone out with multiple women irl (some silly gals, but there were non-partisans like Megan), and they all had consistent stories of Chris being too handsy, and ignoring warnings and admonishments about personal space. Hence, it's safe to say Chris has a history with not keeping his hands to himself even when he's told to.
In terms of my "invective"? Sorry man, I thought this was kiwi farms, not an Ivy League dissertation. I've gotta say, between his ratty clothes and unkempt afro, I think the hobo in a wig jab is apt. Slobbery? Eh. Debateable.
Funny thing is, I don't hate Chris. I'm legitimately hoping he finds a way to become a functional, adapted member of society. But I don't think asspats every time he doesn't shit himself and playing down every time he fucks up is gonna get him there. And his history supports my thinking.

I would suggest that you make a "note for the babysitter" if you arrange or are involved in any other situations where you can help Chris attend and have an enjoyable time at a con. What would be better is if a staff or volunteer, someone you can trust not to fuck around with him, was a semi-guide for him. Not get in his way, but be handy to correct him, so to speak, if he seemed to be going in autism overload mode.

Give the staff or whoever you deal with a good rundown on how he is, how he can react and more importantly how to simply explain things to him so he fully understands. Chris I truly believe, if things are explained to him correctly in a coherent to his autism way, he can exist and not be a problem.

Like you said, it is a learning experience for all and with some trusted help from you and others, Chris can attend future events and enjoy and not get caught up in something that he cannot deal with or doesn't comprehend.

If you're going to tell Null to get that involved, you might as well suggest he personally goes to the con with Chris. I wouldn't invest that much effort in Chris in the first place, but at that level of investment you might really have to be personally available to wrangle Chris at a moment's notice, to ensure your efforts are not wasted. Null already mentioned this has been a team effort and look how Chris fucked it up despite multiple people actively trying to make sure he has a good time.
