Tbh Phil should sell the condo and then sell his Seattle house and move to a smaller place in the Midwest somewhere where cost of living is dirt cheap.

He can go to Sam's Club/Costco anywhere. He never leaves the house. Mortgage payments would be less. Taxes would be lower. He could have a real actual yard.

His ability to cling to and compound bad decisions astounds me.

Phil can't fix his 'setup' let alone his life.

"I can't do that dood, because then the detractors would win."

Fucking guy's almost 40 years old and I can guarantee that's his thought process in regards to why he won't just move somewhere more affordable.

Detractors are still winning regardless, lol. He's just to fucking stubborn to admit and realise he's a failure and needs to reform himself.

Pride though. That oversized house means everything to him, in his eyes giving it up will be a 'loss'. And he doesn't like losing. Also the Cahndo isn't looking too good these days.

When you're self employed and only in need of a good internet connection, move to one of the most expensive cities in the country. Amazing.
Speaking of internet, I always get a kick out of his usual "online lag" complaints in light of him paying several hundred dollars for business class internet. Meanwhile, I have much cheaper standard broadband net and latency is just fine in SFV.....

I think his laziness is also a big part in this.
He could've sold his CT condo a long time ago without taking huge losses but he refused/was too lazy to hire someone who sells it for him.
Just as he was too lazy to hire a new tax attorney (assuming the whole tax situation is true) when moving states.
And now he is simply too lazy to find a cheaper place and move all his stuff.

Don't forget that this is also the man who never moved stuff in his "office" since moving in and didn't bother throwing Leanna's stuff away for almost a year after they broke up.

Yeah, the house pretty much is the single most important thing to Phil regarding his success. He's a paranoid fuck and living in a gated community is the only way he feels safe, and the Khando being in shit condition just means he's going to wait for somebody to fix the roof to increase the value before selling it (Read: never).

Plus, moving out really isn't an option because of his quote-unquote "bad back"

That's because online games usually don't need more than a MB or two per second to run without lag, most games are designed with as much economy in mind as possible when it comes to the information they send between the player and the server. Phil's business class internet is nothing but a waste of his money, at best it makes it so the games he downloads go quicker, that's it.

iirc, there was a video showing DSP and his opponent's screens at the same time, and both screens were basically the same.
phil doesn't have online lag, he's got a lag in the brain.

i'm sure his house is full of junk and if he had to move to a smaller place he'd have to either sell most of it, or end up looking like a hoarder

Eh, lag is just the impulsive excuse he loves giving to protect his malignant ego. Remember how he immediately tried using it on the Street Fighter AI before he corrected himself since it doesn't apply?

He can't stand taking even the tiniest of Ls. It's downright fucktarded on his end.

A problem characteristic of following DSP's bullshit is that there's simply too much of it. While a forum like this or discussions on Twitter are suited for the bigger antics of the week, the relatively smaller, more random stuff gets lost.

I've been thinking about doing something inspired by @Coin Ops rundowns of DSP's PUBG sessions (you will forever live on in our hearts). Pop into his stream at a random time for a couple minutes and record those harder to capture moments of bullshit and general DSP EU info. I think the randomness, combined with the shorter time frame, will highlight how this inanity happens at any given time (and maybe stem complaints of it "being a slow day" by offering something to chew on).

Enters stream:

DSP is playing The Simpsons Road Rage. He has to complete a certain amount of races. He's stuck in one, driving through lamp posts and into walls. The competing car drives too well - essentially "the game is cheating". This particular section apparently has a severe physics bug: "The physics here are broken". Immediately after declaring this, he maintains first place in his next try, only to run into a wall at the last moment: "Complete fuck'n bullshit".

Nightbot announces an open Twitter poll for the possible games Phil will play next. Subscribers offer suggestions that could have been written here:
encelor: scarface the game
bobby ling: dsp tries it- morrowind 24 hour stream

For some reason, the regulars are on some meme about bunnies. To go with this, Anony has changed his name to ThatAnonyBunny.

dsp hasn't bitched about needing serious money in awhile

I think if not for kat he wouldve had to sell the house already. cause for awhile now hes only been getting 4-5k a month.

I think on the minimum she makes 40k but probably no more than 60k. but that is a major difference when added to his income. Even just money for monthly bills and groceries etc has probably been a major difference.

He hasn't been in that super panic mode in a good bit of time (compared to how he was for awhile running birthweek streams and begging extra hard everyday)

She is extra valuable to him than the soap queen, not only if she a solid maid but for sure brings home more bacon than the minimum wage job panda was at.

He still has the narrative in his back pocket and will whip it out at some point

Phil's been making far more than 4-5k a month. He's more in the 6-10k range, with 6k being on the low end. Check out @EddyB43 's twitter: https://twitter.com/EddyB43Cynic/status/991340372394692613

Those numbers are just Twitch, and they represent the low end of what he got as tips could be given off-stream and Eddy didn't try and count every sub-$5 tip for at least a few months. Then add on anywhere between $1500-3000 (depending on what you think his CPM is) for Youtube and another $1000 (ranging closer to $800-900 now) for Patreon.

This is not to say that Kat's not bringing in some money, but if we assume she's working some kind of minimum wage hourly job, she's bringing in ~$30k a year ($15/hr * 40/wk * 50 wk/yr) at most, and that's before taxes. If she's working only part-time, then it's less, obviously.

In short, Phil could be in tough financial straits, but it's not because he doesn't have enough money. He's either lying, or he's piss-poor at managing his money (or both).

Oh I know he's full of shit, it's just that I get a kick that he doesn't seem to think he's getting ripped off by comcast if we were to take his bullshit at face value. Which makes me conclude he doesn't really buy into his own nonsense.

"Online tactics" is another good one from a dude that doesn't even play offline and hasn't in years. So either adapt to "online tactics" or shut the hell up.

But he doesn't have to pay taxes in Seattle.

He wouldn’t have to pay taxes in Texas, and cost of living would be much lower. Not to mention that he could get faster internet for less price more than likely. But he moved to a place with one of the highest costs of living around. In Oklahoma a 250,000$ house is almost a mansion. Washington is such a weird choice for someone who was tired of high cost of living.

I guess it was the well documented back-healing Seattle Air. I dunno.

Probably because it was the farthest place from Vermont he could find that wasn't California, Alaska, or Hawaii.

Phil was like a dumb pro-athlete that splurges on money thinking the gravy train is always going to be there.

I assume shes making more than minimum wage. Being it was at a company that actually gave her a transfer. Id say between 40-60k if had to guess

even if phil was making 9k a month he was in awful shape. he was lucky to find another sheep

I don't really buy the whole "her company lets her transfer, but she can't work right away because of her license"-shtick.

She probably gave everything up and had to find a new job in WA.

2 random minutes of Phil's stream, continued:

Someone in chat suggests Phil play against another fighting game streamer. This leads to the blame-laying observation about the LTG match-up that never was: "I guess he just doesn't wanna do it", "He was supposed to DM me".

Goes over LTG's tweets complaining about the cost of going to FGC events. Phil speaks for him: "I could have spent money on a new car". Nicely timed, considering the recent discussion of what Swagginz could have done with his money. Phil continues this lack of self-awareness talking about "all the time and money" he wasted. At one point he thought to himself, "What the fuck am i doing?"...

People are getting paid to do commentary on fighting games streams. Phil seizes on this. "People are getting paid for that shit?!" Explains how he would be a perfect FGC commentator: "These days I'm much better at controlling myself."

Making his point about commentating, someone asks when the gameplay starts. "When I stop talking to my stream chat", he snaps back. A pause of silence, then starts up the commentary thing again, clawing for talking points to keep it going.

In one of the ~Illegally Uploaded Detractor Videos~ I watched tonight, it pulled a segment where he talked about peoples' 'recommendations' for making his streams better. The obvious one was, of course, "Don't post a 45 minute pre-stream of meandering thoughts and plugs for t-shirts that nobody's going to buy". Unsurprisingly, his response was completely schizophrenic:

- Nobody should be asking for that, I'm still putting out 4+ hours of kwality kahntent
- I'll try an abridged pre-stream anyway, even though everyone loves the pre-stream I do now and nobody's ever asked me to do anything different
- Followed by a 45 minuite pre-stream anyway.

It's incredible. He somehow combined every bit of stubbornness into a single response, then continued to ignore any constructive criticism. He said that people "love to interact with [him] in [his] pre-streams", but the reality is just the opposite, right? It's the only time of day he's getting any social interaction outside of wandering around the kahndo on his cell phone.
