There’s no evidence other than the word of a pathological liar that she ever had a job that let her transfer across the country. Kat is nowhere near intelligent or charismatic enough to have a position so important that they would transfer her instead of just finding someone else. Plus if she had a great job that would allow this kind of transfer, why the fuck would she move in with Phil? I refuse to believe there wasn’t a financial component to her decision to do so, bc we all know how repulsive he is to us and we don’t have to smell his greasy walrus stench or have him convulse on top of us like an exceptional seal.

It seems far more plausible that she was working some minimum wage gig as a waitress or cashier or something and was wooed with tales of the wonders and riches of the Gout Kingdom, so she moved out there and spent a few weeks finding another job doing something similarly menial. Calculations saying she makes $40k-60 seem overly generous to me as well. Minimum wage in Seattle is $15, so she’d be clearing closer to $30k if she was working 40hr weeks every week of the year. But considering the way most jobs of that sort work and her likely lack of any appreciable intelligence or skills, it’s very possible she’s getting less than full-time every week, and probably makes sub-30k annually.

While I’m sure Phil’s money grubbing ass is delighted to have any extra income Kat does bring in, I don’t think that’s his main reason for wanting her there. He’s all about pretending to be a cool, tough, successful adult and Leanna leaving him was a huge blow to his ego bc he couldn’t claim to be smashing pussy like the ladies man he imagines himself to be. Kat is a status symbol to him, just like the house, the BMW, or his toy collection. He needs her to present the image that people love and care about him when we all know even with her living there, he’s still the same reclusive, friendless little goblin he always was and always will be. Now he just has a roommate who he can brag about and use to hide from the fact that nearly everyone who knows his name despises him.

Well did anyone really want to see her besides detractors? A lot of the time it seems he structures things more around us then his actual fans by either doing something like having Kat on or not doing things his fans want like multiplayer streams. Plus even if things worked out the way he pictured before she moved in were any of his fans clamoring for awkward co-op streams like he used to do with Panda.

I just find it funny how Dave constantly has to try and find ways to skirt as close as he can to the Twitch TOS without breaking them. Like if he put as much effort into his content as he does in constantly trying to abuse various platforms he'd probably be a millionaire.

I will gracefully acquiesce. I'm arguing semantics anyway. The bigger picture of DSP using her for whore-bux is the key, and the fact that all the gymnastics he does to avoid getting wrecked by the Twitch TOS should leave him with a body any Chad would be jealous of.

Afaik, to give the game a small window to adjust to different connection speeds, so that there is more room to synchronize both players.

EDIT: So f you got a stable and fast connection, it is recommended to put the Input delay at 0.
If you are on wifi or have crappy internet, a higher delay is advised.
(The latter resulting in more "rollbacks" since the game has to "wait" for your input to produce a reaction.)

Basically if you set your input delay to zero then the connection might have a more jittery appearance because there's no delay at all to smooth out the animation. If you set to 3 then it looks better but you have 3 frames of delay which may not seem like a lot but in fighting games there's often moves and cancels that have 1 frame of input. So do the math.

Most people go with 1 frame of delay for the best of both worlds. But not Phil of course. He'll just continue to play at 3 frames of delay and then bitch about it.

If you look at Leanna-era DSP it was a time in which YouTube "celebrity status" was more rare than it is now. DSP was cool and appealed to people because there weren't that many couples like it. And even if there's never outright nudity and if the discussions are fairly innocent and not even overtly sexual a female will attract a male audience (see: Instagram).

If he's actively trying that shit now then it won't work on as large of a scale as Leanna did. She will still appeal to his hardcore audience and make them care more about his boring life.

I really doubt he has the foresight to "write in" shit like Leanna/Kat to the DSP show. But he can probably put 2 and 2 together and know that a female cast member = $$$.

As to bra vs lingerie vs women's fashion it doesn't matter. She's wearing shit I've seen plenty of women wear outside the house and if he got banned from Twitch for it it'd be fucking exceptional. Twitch's "titty streamer policy" is aimed nowhere near Kat or what she's wearing.

Anyway, in the past year Twitch has exploded and become a lot more dominant than previously which means there are "power couples" and female streamers who aren't titty streamers but can stand on their own. DSP's quality content isn't quality enough to beat anyone else out*

The biggest issue is that DSP is never going to do "natural" stuff like other streamers do (like cooking shit or going to conventions). He just plays shitty games, he plays them terribly and he is boring.

* = I don't watch shit on Twitch but I read a lot of analysis/news about online media and this is what I read about a lot. Twitch is starting to appeal to big money. When I say shit like "power couple" its probably a generalization because "power couples" do exist on other sites like YouTube and I'm sure Twitch has its own "power couples". A lot of this is apples and oranges because other streamers and internet celebrities mainly rely on sponsorship deals with viewer patronage being an added extra. DSP can't get sponsorship so he will probably never propel his "brand" to anywhere near the same levels as other internet celebrities.
