Is what totalbiscuit wrote in that screenshot real?
It probably is, considering what he said about dsp in one of the streams, and tb being know for like ranty messages like that.

He thinks that it is basically guaranteed that when he sells his house he'll have enough to pay off his mortgage and have that money left over. Phil is short sighted though. When he finally decides to sell the struggle mansion, he'll sit on it until he gets exactly how much he wants, that's considering he ever gets it.

Which might never happen considering housing market is not always that stable. But what will instead happen is the following, he is 60 still trying to stream working on benefits, and he finally has paid of his condo back home. Then he sells it and claims that it's pure profit after paying of the mortage which made him pay it twice over.

Not part 1, but before part 1

His initial 'thoughts' at 1:42 are, "Uhh, I have no audio. What happened? I have no audio right now. I can't hear any audio, that's great. So what that tells me is that the audio settings in the game are 'Off' by default. 'Cus I hear nothing. Yeah. You guys have audio, I have none."

He's mentally disabled.

If Phil somehow managed to reduce his bills and debt he would just buy more shit on credit and be living month to month again. Hes the ultimate mark, he'd rather live like this for the rest of himself than make some tough decisions and go without for a while to benefit himself in the long term.
It's almost like he is living like a person who knows they are going to die, which with how fragile a job like "content creator" is he sorta is on borrowed time. Like you said even if this refinance would work out 100% in his favor he would just replace that debt with new debt and one day, maybe in the near future or years away, Phil won't be able to do this anymore.

Let's be generous and pretend Phil continues streaming until he is 45 and the earliest you can get Social Security is 62. Even if Phil has a nest egg would it be large enough to last 17 years? Knowing Phil he would think he "earned" a long vacation and a lot of that cash would go to traveling. Think of how much he spent traveling 45 minutes from his house, imagine the cost of that dream California vacation. Eventually this guy will need a job and starting an entry level postion at 45 isn't going to do him any favors. Guess there is always bankruptcy, but that isn't the magic answer to all his problems he probably believes it to be.

Guess I kinda got off topic, thinking of how shitty Phil is at thinking long term took me on a tangent.

There is no solid long term plan for Phil. He's probably waiting things out until a real competitor for Youtube appears and he think that will somehow magically make him much more money, which realistically will not be the case. Until then he is focusing on Twitch, and by that I mean he's completely relying on a few generous/foolish donators that will waste hundreds of dollars on him. But these fans will run out of cash or will stop caring way before he reaches the age of 40. If you ask me, he knows he's almost done and now he's just doing everything to receive as much cash he can possibly get before he goes out.

DSP is essentially putting all his eggs in one basket. He's hedging a bet that his current home will retain or increase in value over next 2 years. There is absolutely no guarantee of this. We could have an economic downturn anytime in next 2 years. Some people have theories that real estate in Washington is due for a bubble. Also, even if his house retains value he will have to get it appraised. There is a possibility he has mold in his attic walls because he had a leak and never really followed up on it. We'll see what happens.

Wow, gg at roping yourself in for double the amount of time. G fucking G.
You would think that he would know that they are allowing him to refinance because they get more money from him that way. His 30 year loan will turn into a 50 year loan pretty quick and I doubt he has been paying anything but interest in the time he's been there.

The mass migration to Washington, and more specifically Seattle, is over. He missed his opportunity years ago. People are going to start leaving to flee the people flooding in for marijuana and to get away from the hipsters. The housing market is fickle and you have to pounce when the time is right but you also have to actually be ready at that time. For example, the house we currently live in was on the market for an entire year before we bought it at a highly discounted price. Currently we could sell the house for asking price in less than a month. Doesn't mean that it'll be like that for long, and we aren't ready to sell it yet. Such is life.

The housing market goes through trends just like internet streaming and youtube do. We've all seen how bad DSP is at realizing trends and hopping on the bus at the best time.

ive said it once and ill say it again, theres no way this wont end poorly. people supporting phil are only delaying the envitable, he will run out of fans. he isnt growing, his whales will shrink up sooner or later. the longer they delay the harder phil will fall (especially cause phil aint preparing for it at all)

i honestly, without a doubt in my mind, know he will be homeless and on the streets begging in the future.

I like how Phil has irreversibly fucked his life into the ground. Either he stays in Seattle and has to eternally pay for his CT khando, while paying WA backtaxes; or he moves back to the Khando after selling the new pigpen, in which case he still has to pay backtaxes to WA. Quite an un-blockable combo he's made for himself.

You think after ten years of doing this shit hed have learned to boot the game to the main menu and see if it works before his stream starts.

Hell, he could do it while doing his pre-pre-stream.

The whales will give him money no matter what he does and he knows it, so why should he bother to make sure he's prepped to actually start gameplay?
