Her anatomy is shit, and I don't mean "intentionally weird as an artistic choice," I mean flat-out bad. It looks like she just wings it and goes straight to lineart without sketching, which is the kind of method that only works if you're a really seasoned artist. Otherwise, you're going to end up with a piece of art that looks like a fourth grader drew it.
That's the thing, you have to really have your technical skills down to be able to draw intentionally "bad" anatomy as an artistic choice. Picasso had to be able to do this:
I had different constrictions but was totally stuck on a similarly narrow subject matter for years at a time. I know there are people who can draw anything, but I think it's more typical to get obsessed with 1-3 things and draw them all the time until you get obsessed with something new.
I kinda like her stuff too, especially the one with the flowers growing out of the skirt.
I understand the constant repetition of a theme, I think that's normal. But to me, there's a difference between revisiting a theme over and over to knocking out endless near-identical, self-referential complete pieces, never changing even the medium or colour palette. I'd have more respect for her precious "art" if, instead of barely veiled begging for more markers, she'd try something else - those cheap brush pens you can fill with anything; even Ackerman pump pens if she just has to have the named version. She doesn't HAVE to use Copics but that's part of her tortured, thwarted schtick, if she can't get the pens...oh noes!!! Her muse is stilled, it's tragic! How many people here just stick a pen/brush into their coffee if that's the nearest available thing?
It's subjective, I'm not knocking anyone that likes her stuff; the impetus behind something we like is irrelevant. I just get the feeling she's more into being a tortured artist and the art is secondary, just like Amber is in thrall to the idea of being "a wrider" rather than actually writing.

I agree. I think I'm sympathetic towards Luna because she's not bad for an amateur (then again I know nothing about art and my technical skill level is on par with maria/crappybeautydummy.) I like her style, and I think she has potential. The thing is that her pieces are just lavish, frivolous doodles more than anything. If she was more serious about art rather than adopting the persona of an artist, I think she could do decently. She's wasting away on heroin and not developing new techniques or improving her current skill. She seems happy to stay in her comfort zone rather than push herself and branch out. It's sad.
As for Hamber, you could have her read "The Elements of Style" and encourage her to enroll in different types of writing classes and she would still suck. It kind of infuriates me when people think writing is easy. It's not. It takes intelligence and skill, which is something Hamber will never have, regardless of practice and training.

I think she uses her art as DBT-type journaling, but effectively uses it for the dead opposite of why DBT incorporates journaling. It seems like she uses it to journal her moods, but she makes it into this fantastical ~~~saD gIrl~~~ drawing-journaling, then asks for validation for her mood/appearance/skill drawings on Instagram. No introspection, just more validation fishing. And, of course, she sells these doodles which also defeats the purpose of journaling.
Just a thought since her drawings mention DBT sometimes, almost always show meds, talk about moods, talk about feelings, etc. She never recreates mirror selfies- it's always snapshots of her ~~~DiRE SadnESS~~~ which just strikes me as very DBT/BPD-type art.
edit: before you fuckers come after me for mentioning BPD or DBT, she has specifically stated she has been diagnosed with BPD and has attended at least a few DBT sessions.

It's been stated earlier in the thread, why bother covering your ass?
Has Luna said what kind of paper she uses for her "art?" Because another thing I remember about Copics is that if you use really absorbent paper, the markers will run out of ink faster. Also interested in seeing the backsides of the paper to see how bad the bleed is.

She uses cheapo stationary store sketchbooks I think, John's screencaps show that she seems to prioritise the seepage not marking the next page and nothing more - she might put a piece of paper in between pages as she draws, as it's pretty bad:
I tried copying her style and now I’d like to claim my easy $50.
Also, I legit have no idea how she gets the ink so streaky. For science, I used Copics on the cheapest shit paper I could find and, yeah, not perfect but nothing like how she gets it. Does she stab the paper with them?

Yours looks way better. Well-done!
It's still sketchy-style but your use of the markers makes it look 100x more professional. I'd buy that this was a protagonist of an adult cartoon series.

What? An actual attempt at drawing a nose? Was she sober when she scribbled this one, or had she downed one Xanbar too many and forgot to use the terrible Tumblr nose styling? It seems so out of place compared to the rest of her portfolio.
I'm no artist, but I feel this one captures her essence down to the grime on the back of her fingers and hand. Plus, it's one of the rare pieces that doesn't have a marker-destroying background fill.
This week has brought many updates, with several instances of repetitive begging and selling of her doodles as she reposted other images she felt warranted the praise and attention she deserves.
Day by day her wretched, miserable existence continues on, without hope, no form of privilege whatsoever, and all constant suffering writhing in the shade of illnesses too horrid to mention.
She put an unsuccessful drawing up for sale.
Her weak nerves cannot withstand her other greatest enemy: The Anxiety™.
The sheer panic assaulting her poor, waif-like body waned enough for a selfie.
Engaging in another favourite past time, Luna compared photos of herself and reminisced.
She clung to the remaining ~10% of her stained, mouldy hoard.
She expressed hope for a plan she immediately justified.
How did Luna go from age-appropriate-looking girl to mid-30s-looking tumblr edgelord to late-20s-looking Nirvana/Melanie Martinez druggie aesthetic? And she's only 22 years old right now.
I love how she advocates for safe benzo usage, but shamelessly posts "aesthetic" photos of her illegal xanax stash. Idk if she's in denial about abusing them or is really that dense.
Also lmao @ "rapid weight loss", bitch where??

P sure teen Luna "borrowed" her friends clothes and copied their style a lot. She pretty much wore Tais skin style-wise, then when she got with Lurch and his edgy NIN/Nirvana tattoos she adopted the courtney love style, mixed with random shit she stole from tumblr because she has no identity.

I blame tumblr for this. They cry YOUR MENTAL ILLNESS IS VALID TAKE YOUR MEDS constantly, despite the fact that half of the people with "anxiety" on tumblr are just junkies using benzos recreationally.
I love how she somehow had rapid weight loss and claims her clothes don't fit, but she's as well fed as ever and those clothes fit either well or snugly.
I also love the art where she wants to be okay but needs her druggie and sad girl aesthetic for a handful of asspats. And lol that be nice to drug users shirt, how about no because they're scum?
This. One of her shit doodles literally contained the phrase “use your DBT skills”. I guess technically her artwork could count as a DBT skill, but apart from that, there’s no evidence that she’s trying anything to get better.
