I agree, but what you just said highlights my worries in more detail.

His parents were happy to let their son be babysat by the internet until the internet told him to fuck off and made it stick.

I'm pretty sure he'll spend a few days in either denial or furiously trying to find away around this insurmountable wall, and it's when he can no longer deny his hugbox is denied him that shit will hit the fan.

Given his dubious sanity, which I know is beyond my power, I'm just concerned what he might do since in his mania he made it clear he refuses to contemplate any other alternate in his other than ban evasion shitposting on a wiki that has now shut him out for good.

And I'm mostly concerned for his sake, because I know if he does something drastic, it's just going to end badly for everyone concerned.

As I said, I don't regret my role in keeping him away from websites where he not welcome, but I must admit now that that is behind everyone, I don't know what the hell he's gonna do now, and given how I never expected he'd stoop to malware, I just hope this doesn't overcome what fragile remains of moral restraint he has against even worse criminal acts.

You're right. I guess I just see him as a frightening alternate universe version of me had I not gotten any help becoming a normal person despite having severe autism myself while younger.

I've written elsewhere (my own blog included) about my own struggles growing up as an autistic and how I managed to overcome the shortcomings to becoming a generally well adjusted person (powerleveling or not, I have no shame admitting it), and I admit Nate is a disturbing version of me had I never gotten any help, and on some level it fills me with dread.

However, it because of that I remain firmly convinced he cannot be allowed to inflict his nonsense on others unchecked. The rest of the world is not obligated to please his whims, nor should it, and just because he never learned to acknowledge this does not put him above the expectations of a civil society.

As for corralling him in a wiki, it won't work. He has decided, with the dedication of a fanatic, certain places are appropriate to be his temple to his obsessions, and take it from an autistic when I say I understand far too well why he won't change his mind or easily accept a substitute.

Therefore, there are two choices: leave him be and let him terrorize other people, or forcibly deny him and let the consequences of his rage over being denied be his downfall. Both are unpleasant, but for the sake of others who should not have to endure his madness, the latter must be done, no matter how he might lash out, because autistic or not, society should not and does not have tolerate his aberrations.

I want it on record he knows he's been beaten and that I gave him a chance to surrender honorably.

He chooses not to, and any consequences are on him, he was warned and given a chance to keep his honor intact he chose to throw away.

Besides, given he's shown some fear of consequences before, he must have some lingering sanity, so as long as I have the slightest reason to believe he still has some sanity, I want it said I spared no effort to appeal to his better nature.

It's worse than that. Despite Nate having chocolate pudding where his brain should be, his parents are as equally as dense as he is. It wasn't until state officials stepped in to have Nate removed from his first elementary public school due to his outbursts that they actually had to "deal" with him. Nate has admitted in now deleted blogposts that he drifted in and out of public schools as well as homeschooling, until he was basically dumped at a religious afterschool program that could basically babysit him when his parents were working. When they, the school that is, couldn't handle him, the Internet became his primary caregiver.

The fact that his parents have zero interest in his well-being other than to keep him calm when he's tarding out speaks volumes to the kind of irreparable damage that has been done to him. He's too lazy to shoot up a mall and too stupid to figure out how a gun works. He'll move onto some other autistic obsession, avoiding life and being consumed with fiction until death takes him.

He isn't that passive. He's been trespassed on numerous railroads and is now banned from an entire town. He also smashed a kid's train because he got mad. Someone else had to beat him upside the head with a lantern or something.

Thanks for the clarification, I did read up on some or most of that thread. Smashed a kid's train? That's something new to me, I'm glad someone had to beat him down for that. Make that semi-passive maybe?
