I really enjoy that she made that post. I do not know anything about witchcraft and had never before given thought to the cleanup of the practices. now we know that she makes these poultices and potions and whatnot and leaves the mess wherever and the fact that it's pissing off her parents is just awesome

Yeah I mean, there's plenty of reasons to scoop all that out, but the part that makes it seem like a lie is that she had no clue about what would be life long care. A doctor would've told her she needs to be on hormones, and that no she can't just replace what her body produces with T. Not to mention, if she can't be fucked to clean up after herself or keep herself clean, she won't be able to handle HRT. People who bitch for months about comparatively minor surgery won't like sticking themselves with a needle every week, not to mention they tend to make folks get to a healthy weight before doing any of that stuff.

Steph, normal, functional adults don't leave sticky messes lying around where they will annoy other people. They think, "Oh, I spilled that; better clean it up"--and they do it.

They don't have to be asked. They don't have to be told. And they don't just leave the mess there until their mother (who is no doubt thoroughly exasperated because you do this kind of shit all the time) has to pull the "Wait 'til your father gets home!" card. That you were out on the deck with a flashlight, cleaning it up at 10:45 at night because you were afraid of getting screamed at by your dad is not your mother's fault. It's yours, because you made and left a mess in the first place, and probably ignored previous, reasonable requests to clean it up.

And frankly, I don't think you're so deathly terrified of your dad's screaming, because if you were, you wouldn't have knowingly left a mess for him to scream about in the first place.

Jesus, she has got to be immensely frustrating to live with, and a huge disappointment to her parents. I'm sure they fucked up somewhere; whatever they did, they're paying for it in spades. The only reason her parents would tell her that in the first place is because they don’t want her to get bullied, chances are her mom was just looking out for her and, heaven forbid, they probably didn’t want her stinking up the house.

:powerlevel: As a former stinky teenager I can attest to the fact that my parents definitely did that, and if they wouldn’t have I probably would have gotten used to the smell like a lot of my peers did and kept roaming on being stinky.
