If he did I don't think anyone would've minded it. It was no secret that he was a practicing Christian. The point is is that he was purposely vague on that aspect in his kickstarter info. All I can think is.... so what?
The man can do whatever he want, if he wants to make a religious streaming service, go for it. It's interesting how in today's "ultra-tolerance" world, it seems religious people are one of the few types of people you can still freely shit on and not face too much consequence or criticism. Places like Freedom from Religion Foundation (which I'm sure would love to try and destroy Butch over this) can fuck off, let people believe what they want.
Not only that, he said he was going to start one even if he didn't make the Kickstarter goal, meaning that he's pretty much scamming people. If he did I don't think anyone would've minded it. Like I and many others have said earlier, him being a CON ARTIST is much worse than him being religious. Take Doug TenNapel for instance, he's a religious guy who's gotten in hot water for saying questionable shit, but people still respect him as a creator (mainly due to Earthworm Jim) and Armikrog (regardless of how you feel about the game itself) still got crowdfunded quite seamlessly because DTN isn't a scammerAll I can think is.... so what?

Personally the whole "Oaxis is going to indoctrinate children to Christianity!" is pretty silly. It's a niche thing that'll only be popular with its niche audience. Not only that, he said he was going to start one even if he didn't make the Kickstarter goal, meaning that he's pretty much scamming people.

The funny part is that the newest Veggietales incarnation (co-produced by Doug TenNapel) is on fucking Netflix so even the crowd he'd banking on probably won't give a shit about OaxisThat's up for debate.
Children, at the age he's targeting, are more prone to believe things without making their own opinions about it. I'm not trying to be anti-religion, believe what you choose to believe. I'm just making a point.
Yes, I don't believe it will get to Netflix level strength, but it may still be viable in some way, especially with the Christian conservative groups, which there are many of, and some are very large and very profitable such as Focus on the Family and the American Family Association. I believe that once it gets closer to launch, more groups will start pouring money into it. Again, just a possibility.
Sooo... horror movies and adult shows are the literal devil huh Butch? Until they get you views at least.

Edit: if anyone can recover the "DELETING THIS IN 24 HOURS" video that seemed to push the final couple thousand for the kickstarter that'd be great.

Seems like the Chruch Butch supports is even more insane than I thought!
A white guy hosting an Islamic streaming service just raises a whole different set of red flags. That bring me back a detail then Meiden-Tiejuan mentionned in an earlier post and she might have a good point.
I beginned to wonder the same question.
