Butch Hartman Oaxis Shitshow

I've never liked Butch Hartman, I always got some sort of vibe from him that really made me uneasy. I'm not surprised in the slightest that he's a Christian conservative and that this is just a scam. What I'd like to know is where the extra money is going to.

Same boat here- Tho I got this "kind of weird, geek friend's dad that tries to spout memes so you guys can engage him in your conversation" sort of vibe from his videos. I'm not too surprised this was a scam and I can bet you that the extra money will go to lining his pockets funding whatever programs are going to be on his platform.

People who think the anger is about Christianity are stupid (though I’m sure some people are angry about that as much as it misses the point). The issue is that he lied about the fact it was specifically Christian, lied because he knew it wouldn’t earn him as much money from his millennial audience. It makes sense why the kickstarter was so incredibly vague now, if there’s anyone contracted well known in Christian entertainment or if their pre made lined up programs were all Christian, it’d be a dead giveaway.

The other things coming out of the wood work too, like blaming entertainment on rising suicide rates. Butch clearly has a very warped view of the world, and I think he’s about to realize any goodwill that he garnered when his audience was children is about to evaporate. Pretty stupid moves made all around, especially considering today’s political climate.

EDIT: I forgot to say that I agree Butch should have a thread, OAXSIS won’t last and I’m interested in following up on it.

He's going into hugbox mode.

That bring me back a detail then Meiden-Tiejuan mentionned in an earlier post and she might have a good point.

Butch doing this isn't new or unexpected. He is amazingly quick on the uptake and to protect his "Brand", which is him by the way. He knows that selling this site as a Christian site would doom it in the press and online, so he just hid that part from the mainstream but shared it with his Bible Thumping Compadres. The Prog's will boycott anything that sounds like it might be tied to Christainity. If he had used Islam instead, tho? It would have been plastered all over everything, giving him that sweet advertising for free.

I beginned to wonder the same question.

Edit: if anyone can recover the "DELETING THIS IN 24 HOURS" video that seemed to push the final couple thousand for the kickstarter that'd be great.
Lol that's the same guy who went off on a rampage covering ass for his friends in the industry when Thundercats Roar was getting shit on.

He's such a fucking crowd follower. The only reason he's even coming out with this is because the tides are moving against Butch and there's little consequence because of this.

All I can think is.... so what?

The man can do whatever he want, if he wants to make a religious streaming service, go for it. It's interesting how in today's "ultra-tolerance" world, it seems religious people are one of the few types of people you can still freely shit on and not face too much consequence or criticism. Places like Freedom from Religion Foundation (which I'm sure would love to try and destroy Butch over this) can fuck off, let people believe what they want.
