I understand the parenthesis temptatation. I'm bad about that myself, but most of the time you can rework the parenthetical information back into the paragraph in a way that flows clearly and naturally.

Its different when you do it while posting on a forum or chatting casually with a friend. Then its fine. But when you're writing a supposedly formal and "professional" article, thats when it makes you look like an inept writer who doesn't know how to communicate clearly and professionally.
