Genuine question as I know nothing of burger taxes.

Dave says he's rolled over his first 2 tax payments this year. What will the IRS think when he rolls those payments over then buys a brand new car? Or will they not care because it's not technically in his name?

Watching the video I noticed something I don't recall being mentioned, and I wonder if the new car slip up overshadowed it.

At around 8:40 in the video, Phil says Comcast called him on his business line.

Now I don't really know, can you have a phone number without a physical phone, or would dsp need 2 phones? If the first is possible, what would be the point of one phone having two phone numbers?

Let this sink in, Phil needs a separate telephone line and possibly an additional phone for his business which is basically recording himself begging for money on the internet.

Or this is just the usual Philtalk and it means nothing. He owns a business so everything has to sound professional. Just like he sits in his office, which is in fact not an office, which is part of his business, which is not even in an alternative universe a business. So I guess the following:
He has a regular installed phone in his house. And his mobile is the business line. Which is a completely normal setup.

It's difficult to analyze the story of a person who uses big words to sound important. Some could call it, mmh, lying.

He put the minimum down payment and has it on a monthly just like every "big boy" item he's gotten in his life (based on his prior mortgages, rent, and other car purchases). Phil is short-sighted and stupid, living only in the present.

1) The IRS would not connect Phil and Kat as they are not married. Additionally, anything in her name would be safe from being seized as an asset during bankruptcy proceedings... and yes, they can they can take your car, your house and everything of value you own ( aka all Phils electronics ) during bankruptcy proceedings.

2) He NEEDS a 2nd car! He had to take that terrible cab ride when Leanna went to the ER ( to go get the BMer befoe going to see her in the ER, but I digress...). He NEEDS a car to go get his hair cut by his hairdresser who moved to another town. If Kat is at work, how will he go get his haircut?

3) Kat would have to be put on his insurance for the Toyota to drive it and be covered in the event of an accident. She would not have to be a spouse nor child to be covered by his insurance. All he has to do is put her as an additional 'driver' of the car.

You're working under the likely erroneous assumption that anything he says is true.

Food for the thought: does Phil intentionally put things in different names to avoid potential repurcussions? Can recall one of the things he pays is in name of Phil Burrel or something.

anyway we also dont know if she works minimum wage or not. its just an assumption because she seems slow. but I know a lot of slow people who make way more than minimum wage

I’m basing my assumption there on her lack of job in the beginning and the fact that the whole “transferring” story was bullshit.

Some believe she is an Uber driver. You can’t confirm how much you make with Uber because it depends on how much you work and how many customers you pick up, so using that as a reference point of income is impossible on a loan application.

I can't quite remember, but didn't Phil say that they had to get Kat signed up for her own separate car insurance during the whole 'she can't get a job without a drivers license' month when people were making fun of him? Or say they had to temporarily put her on his?

I don't remember the insurance, but I do know he had to get her a new license and she couldn't drive on her old license anymore, even if they allow you 30 days, because someone pointed this out to him and he got triggered with "you're wrong, you don't know what you're talking about, grow up and learn how the real world works" kind of rants.

It snows roughly twice in the Seattle area and that shit is a very light snow. Last big one was in like 2011 and that was for just one week and the roads were cleared in 2-3 days.

I think DSP is just a little slow on how deep people on internet can dig. He figured he'd buy the car with Kat's name as a gift for her and nobody would be the wiser. I was always on fence whether he's actually broke or not. This suburu incident has convinced me he's a lying sack of shit with money to blow.

The other option is Kat is pulling a scam on him. He doesn't know about the Suburu. Similiar to how Leanna was using the fake wedding ring and he was unaware.
