After a long enough time an internet personality develops are core fanbase that'll stick them through thick and thin. Doesn't matter if its a somewhat good person that degenerated into a shit like Spoony or somebody that's always been shit like Boogie.

What is Boogie's appeal? I think its what I just described. People sticking through him through thick and thin out of some strange loyalty. As a fan they view him as a personal friend and perhaps due to his videos, they have an especially unhealthy view of what friendship is.

How did he get a large enough audience to boil down to a large core of loyalists? I think I said it best here.

Initially he exploited the fat people and gamers doing dumb shit meme to build up a fanbase.

Later he managed to latch onto Reddit obsessing about fat positivity and deifing anybody that spoke out against it.

At the same time he became the "sane voice" about issues like gamergate and sjw drama stuff. In reality he was just restating basic facts most could agree on and leaving out anything contentious and not taking a clear stance on anything.

His audience is built around this triangle. His streams appeal to the first audience, his youtube mainly appeals the latter two groups. The lootbox videos are for people that eat glue or something.

He's a zany good guy and the entirety of 30-year old man and edgelord gamer sphere of youtube reinforces that, from H3h3 and Pewdiepie to IdubbzTV and even DramaAlert.
