Fixed a bug in the reply-actions where replies from actioned users weren't getting generated. Added user graphs based on the top 15. User graphs get generated hourly so it's possible for one to get bumped off the top list and stop being generated.

Didn't all the other forums refuse to let them in when NEOgaf collapsed or am i wrong?

Possibly that and also possibly a bit of self-segregation. IIRC a bunch of future REEESeters thought the Waypoint forums (of all things) were too racist and also too tolerant of Goobergators. Been a bit but I thought there were some posts along those lines.

It's not that they were banned or prevented from making accounts on RPG Net or anywhere else really, they were just told up front "your politics are gay, we aren't changing our existing post culture to accommodate you, moderator positions are not open to you & none of this is up for debate. Abide by these guidelines or post elsewhere; we've existed fine without you, and will continue to do so without you." No other existing forums were willing converts to their ideologies or had op-sec holes or vectors for taking control and forcing people to stomach their terrible ideas & opinions.

It's telling that after Gamergate was told "Your email campaigns against our advertisers actually worked" by Gawker on its deathbed & they haven't used them to lash out at ResetEra's advertisers; they clearly see it as a containment site for mouthbreathing sexual offenders and would prefer the jailers get their piddly salary than risk them shutting down & being forced to disperse their rabble back into the general populace.

All the websites watching the dumpster fire did one of two things:

1. "Fuck off, we're full"
2. "You can stay, but leave all the political bullshit at the door, this is a video game forum"

They seemed shocked at how many people did the former to them, like they couldn't comprehend why people hated them, and whenever they got told the latter their response was basically "This site is too toxic guys, keep moving, we'll find our safe haven eventually!"

Sadly, they HAD to go out of their way to specifically find a video game forum or make their own. They couldn't just drop the pretense and just find a political forum or website to integrate into, because a. god forbid they actually have people arguing against them and actually dissecting their political beliefs with no repercussions and b. they HAD to be a "gaming" forum or be part of one to attract more people to the hive, because if people see "politics" and "vidya" at a two-way they're gonna hit the gas and drive towards "vidya".

That made it much harder to find anywhere to integrate into since they made it pretty clear under a super thin veil of rational thought and accepting different opinions and beliefs that all they wanted was an echochamber, and everyone could see that. So the gaming communities that wanted to stay gaming communities didn't welcome them with open arms.

And now of course you can see perfectly well why, ResetEra is a hive of political echochambering and they would've probably tried to turn any website that bent over backwards for them into that. Sorry for the rant, just a brief history of what I've observed.

I mentioned it previously, but what happened with NeoGAF is kind of an anomaly.

Having crunched the data, all evidence seems to suggest that the attempt to #MeToo Evilore was an attempted power-play to gain control of the site, and while I can't say for sure whether or not this is the case, Malka's certainly suggested several times that this may be the case, and there definitely was some of NeoGAF's staff hoping to profit from the shit-show - whether they were hoping to profit monetarily or politically.

The story goes that the mod team overplayed their hand and it became very clear that Malka wasn't going to step down. Worse, Malka looked into the ones screeching the loudest, and quickly discovered that not only that a few of the mods were openly abusing their power, but doing so to a ridiculous, pants-shitting degree.

Besada was probably the worst as far as unvarnished faggotry is concerned.

Unfortunately for NeoGAF's insane mods, they didn't have a backup plan and pretty much every gaming forum on the planet celebrated NeoGAF's burning. The Gaffots stuck to discord for a time, and wherever they went, they found that the population was less-than-accepting of them, basically telling them to conform to the rules of the forum or fuck off. While they were whining about Nazis, multiple attempts were made to re-establish the hugbox complete with insane mods who had ruined NeoGAF, with most of them dying by the wayside. Ultimately two groups of Gafugees found their way to the promised land: one group established itself on the WayPoint forums, and the other, the one basically by and for the assclowns that ruined the game previously, was ResetERA.

Never really followed GAF before the Evilore groping scandal but that name seems to come up an awful lot in reference to the cancerous nature of NeoGAF. Is he a cow in his own right? I know there was that one mod who got done for child porn (Amir0x?) but what exactly was Besada's problem then?

Tyler Malka is a definite cow, much like Lowtax, as he's one of those guys with the philosophy of a weathervane, happy to let shit fester so long as he profits and is also a creepy douche who, also like Lowtax, has been cursed by his own forum for being problematic.

Furthermore, you can clearly see that even within OldGAF's cancerous mods, a powershift happened, you can see this in how ResetEra bans people for the slightest criticism of Nintendo, which is now getting the treatment Sony used to get in NeoGAF.

Also, the demodding of people like Duckroll and Besada during the forum switch are telling.

Fully agreed, but it seems to me that @Ginger Piglet was asking about Besada.

Besada is a former NeoGAF mod, who was noted for being a giant asshole to people, and for looking like a Jake Alley lookalike, leading to the loving nickname, Obesada:

@Munchingonfish had a good post about Obesada, who was so incredibly disliked that he wasn't invited to mod the new forums, despite stating his interest very publicly on Twitter. Here he is trying to backseat mod the new forum in its early days.
