I'll give you guys props I thought it was Deku too when I went on the trans tag, but it's actually Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner from Dc comics
The artist likes drawing everyone trans and darkens Kyle's skintone. Alot of artists like to darken his skintone I know he's latino but there are light latinos

Late but putting the pictures here incase people don’t want to go through links/blog goes down.

Like the art is not too terrible if you judge it on artistic merits. Minor nitpicks but I wish Nani didn’t block out the words on her sign by putting it behind her head- would have liked if her arm was in a different position or if the pose was SO IMPORTANT, it would have had clearly readable symbols or something so that it doesn’t mess with the meaning if a little bit of is obscured.
Also wish the background for all of these weren’t just different colors with the words resist written on them but eh artists get lazy.

EDIT: Alright I’m editing again but it’s not fix a typo.
Found the artist’s instagram.

And she’s actually a really good artist! These disney resist pieces are just some of her weakest works (I mean that we can see, she doesn’t upload frequently).

can we all collectively agree that the world does NOT need any more progressive disney princess art

also, ur gonna tell me Jasmine-

Don't feel like explanation is required.

I'd actually love this if it wasn't for the hairy arms and blackwashing...sigh

SJWs hate when minorities are much more conservative than they are. I.e. being a POC but not supporting gay/trans rights, or being very religious. That's where the vitriol and "Uncle Tom" slurs are thrown to them...Which is really hilarious considering most minorities who are conservative live outside of America, so the term Uncle Tom probably means nothing to them.

So it'd be funny to see in this artists' thought how would Mulan and Jasmine interact then (why is Jasmine turned into a conservative muslim considering how she dresses so seductively in the original film...Like I'd get a sweater and pants at least but the hijab just seems too much...They know some muslim women are allowed to free their hair, right?)

Might be :powerlevel: but the mother of a girl I went to school with fled from Iran to become a politician, and the first thing she did was stop wearing her hijab and telling the muslim women around her it was okay for them to do so as well. There are such few muslim women who are happy with their situation, and if they are, they're pretty lucky.

the hijab vs no hijab thing is empowering depending on the oppression u faced in the first place. women who were forced to wear a hijab will most likely rebel by not wearing it, women who were shamed for wearing theirs [usually in western countries] will mostly likely rebel by wearing it... thats why just lobbing one on urself or any character u draw ever isnt a universal symbol of progressiveness

then again it usually boils down to nothing deeper than 'look my character person of poc' so...

Has anyone else seen those Ishvalan Elric brothers AUs?

While I feel this can be separated from "draw the character darker and claim that's the only acceptable appearance" because it's usually treated as an alternate universe and it's a made up race, I just remembered the trend when I was browsing this thread.

(Not to say I haven't seen regular "draw the character darker at random" for Edward, but I can't find any with a quick search.)
