It ends with a dramatic implication that she's hospitalized and will be for a few weeks - because she has one mri scheduled, a test which only takes a few minutes? And she makes it sound like she's on her deathbed, plugged into life support. But all the photos are of her childhood bedroom, not a hospital, and she can blog and take sad pictures?

She's either been forced to a hospital refeed, or she's making it up entirely.

So raw veganism is now the golden calf. But wait, Anna can't tolerate bone brother now because her panky hurts. So it's back to juice and coconut water. Those are both made from raw produce. So what have we learned Anna? Why we'll just say that labels are bad and God doesn't like them. We'll stop calling ourselves raw vegan while simultaneously saying bone broth is now indigestible so we have to go back on juice. Nothing's changed. It's just an excuse to make it look like Anna is trying to change but it's just too difficult because of her CF. We all know that if this is a real hospitalization it's for your ED. Anna also posted a short update to her story in which she looks like a cancer patient currently waiting for death to open its door talking about how sick she is (did you know she was sick?) and forcing out a couple dry coughs because she's sick. Of course, she managed to find the time to advertise her website and to make sure you subscribe to it to get her updates via email, because how could you miss out on such crucial info?

Also, I read through her update on her blog and it might've just slipped my mind, but has she ever mentioned she's had Crohn's disease before?

I don't remember Anna ever saying she had Crohn's. That must be a new one. That I'm sure she will claim she's had since she was 11. Anna's really good at backdating her conditions despite evidence to the contrary. She's a master of illusion and has changed the age when she became vegan so many times that you start wondering if the timeline was altered without you knowing.

This death's door cancer patient look is sure to bring her some asspats and prayers. I bet the first person she sent this pic to was Earth Daddy. And with the blurriness of it and the ever receding middle aged man hairline it makes her look like she's got a shaved head.

I personally don’t think Anna is using the CF sob story on her parents or doctors. Her parent are to familiar with her ED to buy into any new rationalizations after years of them, they’d also demand proof of her claims. Doctors know a lot of fancy science stuff. Anna has read just enough about CF to naive rubes online who never question anything she says. Doctors on the other hand can’t be fooled by her rambling about her super rare special CF gleaned from the Internet. They have the ultimate ace in the hole - access to her medical charts and ability to ask her questions. She will never fool the doctors.

I just think Anna only tries her CF warrior bullshit on naive people who won’t question her narrative.

Anna is obsessed with the kindness and unquestioning support that sick people get. She uses that to ensure her CF bullshit is accepted without question from strangers and she can bask in the attention. But close family and doctors do ask questions and know her ED history so she can’t pull the wool over their eyes.

ok, some cards on the table. I used to work in a children’s hospital on a floor that did refeed anorexic teens until they were medically stable enough to transfer to another actually psych facility. It was a full admit- they had an IV, a gown, a heart monitor. (Although most wore their own clothes)

It was hell for them. Monitored showers. No bathroom for an hour after mealtimes. Observed mealtimes with staff there making sure you ate. And if you didn’t eat EVERYTHING on your plate? NG tube down the nose with tube feed specifically weighed out to make up the calories you missed. (I did that measuring sometimes and that was also awful because of how precise it all had to be. )

All that said, if this is a refeed admission, her heart must be fucked up beyond reasonable and her electrolytes are probably awful. And people are watching her eat and weighing her daily and making sure she can’t water load or otherwise trick her.

The issue is she's probably not in pediatrics, she is an adult and they may not easily just be able to ship her off to the psych unit for inpatient eating disorder monitoring like they can with teenagers where the parents are involved in the treatment and decision-making process . Maybe things have changed from when I used to work, so I'm hoping that the hospital actually do something about it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

Were you not around when that was Anna's whole "Fit Vegan Ginger" persona? She seems to be legitimately too sick now to continue pulling that off, and clearly her parents (her mom at the very least) have determined that if she wants their continued support then she needs to get some real medical help.

Everything else has basically gone by the wayside for now, but if she ever does get well enough again I'm sure she'll slide right back into the "I've beaten my sickness through my healthy diet and exercise" persona that she previously put on.

I think she used to get her kicks by pretending she's a super successful person (an ice skater training for nationals! a business owner! a fit college student with a shitload of diplomas and certificates! a nutritionist, yoga teacher, aromatherapist and what else!) but now she discovered that the munchie "every day I'm in the worst pain ever, I have kidney, liver, lungs and brain failure, look at me looking tired in my selfies" is easier and more satisfying to her. I don't think we'll be hearing much about her business from now on, unless something changes.

The parents were supporting that when she wasn't quite as close to death's door. I guess they figured it would help to make her independent. But she circled it all around to feeding back into her starvation plan. It looks like the parents gave up on the "putting her in business" plan a while back... probably when she got canned from the health food store... and she's been running it since as a way to get attention online rather than make money or build independence. I'm guessing the parents' plan now is to pull the independence out from under her and remind her how dependent she is. She wouldn't go to a doctor willingly. There must be some sort of consequence that they're holding over her head. Maybe they're threatening to move away and retire and leave her behind to fend for herself.
