So he's grown up in an era where it's safe to call Canada's favorite son a musical has been, even in the Utah part of America. That still doesn't excuse the rest of your point as to why Russ' obsession might be excited about collaborating live with the artist in question as DJ Sammy's trance remake of Heaven went as high as #8 in 2002 right around the time when a young Russ would claim he was inspired by Billy Joel's concert to become a musician.

I may have to see if that performance is on Youtube or something. I'm curious, as duets can often change a song; 'Missing You' by Bad Company sounded very different when Alison Krauss and John Waite did it as a duet.
