Traps aren't a representation of trans people. They're generally cis male crossdressers who play into certain kinks, and they exist outside of fiction as a fetish subculture. Whenever I see people insinuating that they're transphobic, I assume they're either ignorant, or they want to sweep their stash of tranny porn under the bus by attacking a slightly more shameless version of themselves.

I frankly don't care if people whack off to any type of LGBT people, just as long as they're honest about it and don't let it affect the way they interact with people IRL. A concerning amount of Tumblr artists, though, are either in deep denial about their own sexuality or somehow believe what they're doing is a good thing, when most others looking at their work would find it ugly or degrading.

Thanks for the clarification. I had a very different experience with the concepts of traps, from when I had a brief friendship on Tumblr (LONG AGO ...) who frequently reblogged Touhou girls with dicks and called them traps but also she, etc. It reeked of fetishism. Good to know there's other terms that aren't so creepy.

That being said, I'm genuinely curious if these dipshits have bled into real life people. Say, making Kpop stars suddenly trans or ... Black. Or something. I may have missed it on a page or two prior, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's out there.

When you are a fan of something not very famous there is less risk of finding these horrors, which is good :story:
But the worst part is that if/when I somehow manage to come across some p r o g r e s s i v e art of it, it feels like this gruesome betrayal which utterly exterminates my faith in humanity

I just think that shit is funny.

Give it a couple years and it's gonna be the a new rule of the internet that if it exists, somebody has done SUPER PROGRESSIVE art of it.

Time to play another riveting edition of GUESS THE CHARACTER.

Touhou girls with dicks? That person was mistaken. Those would be futas, not traps.

Futa= A woman with a penis. She can either have a penis instead of a vagina or both sets of genitalia. It’s mostly found in hentai/ecchi. So yeah, this is pretty much a fetish.

Trap= A cisgendered man that looks like a woman. He could either be cross dressing or simply be extremely feminine. It comes from the viewer or a character (mostly men) confusing the guy for a woman. It can be a fetish (like sissificaton in gay porn) or a term for an extremely feminine male character in a non sexual setting. (For a gag for example.)

Reverse traps are cisgendered women who look like men. While cuntboys would be a man with a vagina or both sets.

There are also reverse traps, which are cisgender girls who for one reason or the other are mistaken/pass as boys. There are plenty of examples of them. Haruhi Fujioka (Ouran High School Host Club), Haruka Tenohu (Sailor Moon) and Ukyo (Ranma 1/2) come to mind. Just as regular traps motives range from social presion to a total disregard of how people perceive them.

It genuinely pisses me off how SJWs like to made trap into a slur for the sake of it. Im aware that some people find it offensive but the actual trope is far from intending harm on the LGBT community, it something that many weebs know. The correlation with actual transgender/transexual is almost made up as the only trap with dysphoria I can think of is Ruka (Steins: Gate), putting all the other ambushes as trans is on the same level of misunderstanding as claiming that Mulan or Parvana (The Breadwinner) are trans.

Its even worse when there are several otaku femboys claiming to identify as traps and being erased and ostracized by #Pride.
People ask me often which is my gender and even ask about my pronouns until they discover I am a huge shitlord.

Back with something from the bad art thread on lolcow. I can't tell who these characters are to be honest.

I've seen the first person's art many times because they're in a lot of fandoms I'm in. I honestly like their SFW stuff but they don't seem to realize their exaggerated ugly style doesn't translate well to porn.

And to be fair, lots of people who use the word trap don't know what it means and use it indiscriminately and call any character that is feminine and has a penis a trap. It's understandable to think it's offensive when people will refer to transgender female characters/people as traps, even if that's not what it actually means.

Transgender woman: Born a man and transitioned into a woman
Futa: Woman born with a penis but otherwise female
Trap: Male that crossdresses and tries to convince people they're female (not because of gender dysphoria)
Reverse trap: Female that crossdresses and tries to convince people they're male (not because of gender dysphoria)
Femboy: Male who looks and dresses femininely (may or may not crossdress)
Hermaphrodite: Character with fully functioning penis and vagina
Intersex: Person whose genitals have traits of both a penis and vagina
Transgender man: Born a woman and transitioned into a man
Cuntboy/reverse futa: Male born with a vagina but otherwise male
