I was thinking...Phil likes to go on about how he's changed over the years and become more mature and positive and bullshitbullshitbullshit. It would be interesting to see video montages with clips from game series like Call of Duty. He's surely played all the releases over the years. I'm curious whether he uses the same excuses, in particular, when he's playing online, for instance.

I mean, I think we know the answer, but I feel like it would be interesting to juxtapose his gameplay of iterations of the same games over the years.

So apparently Twitch has a new function which let's you gift up to 100 subs to random viewers/followers at once.

Another month another overdrawn bank account. Just for fun lets figure out how much money Phil blew in July. He came into the month making $2,507.32 from tips in June. Patreon for June was $783.82. About halfway through the month he recieved his May Youtube/Twitch money. Twitch was $3434.32-$3699.32, so for adding purposes let's say $3,550, and Youtube was between $1500-$3,000 so i'll estimate $2,225. Since his account is overdrawn that means he already blew through July's tip money which was $1691.58, and Patreon last month which was $950.37.

~$11,708.09. ~$9,200.77 if you ignore Junes tips since he did this same song and dance last month. How can you do anything but sit back and laugh at that number knowing the only options are he didn't spend it all but is greedy enough to already try to con more from his fans or he somehow blew through all that money and put himself back into dire straights. Thanks @actually and @SoapQueen1 for putting in the work for these numbers.

GREED is massively strong.

Dave blows through money than a fat rich kid in a candy store.

That is just super horrifying, imagine just being randomly gifted a sub to a man you will never watch, and the person who gifted it, didn't know either. Just carpetbomb subs for like 400 a pop?

I can see how Phil suddently gets happy over 500+ new subs, only shortly later wonder why none of them are watching him!

inb4 Phil just starts gently urging Anony, LordLamb and Swagginz saying, “you know, Twitch just instated this new thing that lets you gift 100 new subs to random people...”

I can seriously see one of them actually doing that just to show off. You would think if they wanted to help their cult leader out they would just tip him the $500 so he gets all of it but gotta show off so he only gets 50% of it.

I don't think they like Phil that much. It is seriously hard to enjoy someone like him. Even if you yourself are special taking huge doses of him can be anything from annoying to boring. Thankfully he provides 3 things other than his horrific gameplay.

1. A badge of self worth. Thats an obvious one, every cheer, tip, even something like modship shows that you are the top dog. Above the rest. And as such you are allowed to show off and lord over the others. Best thing? You only need money for this.
2. A safe space. Everything is allowed in Phil's chat pretty much, unless it makes him unhappy. So all these disturbing fantasies you got? Come share them, you can even find like minded people!
3. A weapon. What is the best way to get back at those mean internet bullies? Piss them off! Help their target get back at them then laugh at their misery!

I don't know if Phil created these 3 on his own or if it was a coincidence. I am pretty sure he is fully aware of number 3 and uses it. Still, its not that strange to see his fans do what they are doing.

It is true that there's a sizable group of regulars that also hangout in "Detractor" circles, and BSV has said that Phil is mostly background noise for the community. I think that to say that none his supporters like him though is too far. Just today I saw him getting large congratulatory Cheers celebrating his perseverance through his cruel treatment from Youtube and triumphant return to monetization.

Insane amounts of money are unloaded 25 cents at a time for Phil's attention. The more easily lead like Sidella and bentboxer echo his "fuck da haters" gibbering. Janneysaurusrex flatly defended Phil in an interview with TXT when other long-time supporters interviewed by "Detractors" have admitted at some criticism.

You could argue what "like" means, whether they like him personally or just like to fight da haters, etc. At the very least these people "like", approve and support, the image that Phil has created of himself in their minds, if that makes sense.

What is funny about this is that a sub in itself is essentially worthless. You aren't buying anything of value. You aren't buying anything you can actually use that is tangible. It is like buying fake currency in a mobile game.
Not true. You get some colorful pixels next to your name and access to loads of fun emotes! If you want to be respected by your peers, you need that sub badge. If you want to maximize your enjoyment, you need those white hot emotes. Heck, for $5 the perks basically pay for themselves!

Indeed, and they said they love his streams and videos. I 'member. I nearly vomited by reading that. Hard to forget.

DSP was 2 months from turning 30 years old when he introduced the 18.5 year old Leanna to his viewers. He was admitting to being in a close enough relationship with a barely-legal young woman that mommy let her take a 4+ train ride to spend the weekend at his place two states away. He made himself look like he either uncommonly quickly developed that relationship or was just plain (possibly more than) getting into a long distance verbal relationship with a minor.

If he had just enjoyed his relationship with her for a while and introduced her to his viewers later on and not disclosed how long they'd been together he would have been fine.

But DSP instead bragged and showed off his trophy which is the only reason he became open to accusations of being a pedophile. It's his own fault.

Paypigs and whales who do it purely for attention get to double dip with DSP too, because not only do they get the fancy badge and chat fame from his community, they also gain infamy in the detractor community. Negative attention is still attention. He wouldn't have half the support he gets if this paradigm wasn't true.
