Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

  • Suicide Girl model and America's Next Top Model contestant have it, spread on Tumblr, that's why.

I might as well place this here, it ain't Tumblr bullshit but it speaks something no SJW could have said in their art for miles on end:

Here's a cool thing:

These characters are represented in media already. You drawing an asian character as black or making a presumably cis character trans isn't going to have an impact other than within your small circle of friends and at most just tumblr. It won't be the representation that actually matters.

Go make your own content with original characters and you can make them as dark skinned and special and otherkin as you want. Get that content published or in the public eye. THEN the representation you so crave will be seen.

That is ............................. unless these idiots just want ... progressive points ... (likely)
To be fair it's really hard for someone, especially a teenager or young adult, to create or publish their own stuff and have people actually read/watch/play it.

The best course of action would be to give lots of attention to existent series that have LGBT characters/made by LGBT creators to show that there's a serious market for it.

Like Marvel has been criticized for not having any LGBT characters in their cinematic universe even though there are plenty in the comics, and they've said how LGBT people being oppressed in countries such as Russia and China means that their governments would not allow their movies to be shown there, ignoring the fact the vast majority of their profits come from first world countries and these countries ban and censor their movies anyways.

It's been working, albeit slowly.

Good point!

I wish there was a better course of action. Turning already existing POC (Asian characters in this thread, lately) into darker versions / a different race entirely is counterproductive to the concept of celebrating and exploring different races. I wish they could see that.

As you said, giving attention to LGBT esque content of all kinds seems to be the best way to go. But if they take, say, a light skinned black character from said progressive content and make them very dark then, uh, there's a problem.

But I don't know. Maybe these people will mature and grow out of it :Y

Art that would otherwise look fine if it wasn't for the fact the character(s) look like they've been left in the oven too long is the worst.
If their skin color was the same as it is in canon these drawings would be completely normal, unlike the fat, disfigured, beak-nosed, duck-lipped monstrosities some of these drawings are.

This is weird. They made kokichi fine, but then they completely butchered Saihara. He's probably one of the lightest characters in the cast too. And of course the darker skinned person is aggressive because stereotypes are okay when they do it apparently.

I think what really strikes me about this sort of thing is the violent clash between the attitude the artist is trying to depict (Fun! Earthy! Social! Joyful! Spontaneous! Bursting with life!) and the scientifically precise demographic measurements at play. "Hmm, yes, 44% black, 36% Southeast Asian, 30% Hispanic... 10% gender nonconforming cis female, 28% bisexual nonbinary transgender, 18% gender nonconforming homosexual cis male... 7% disabled... 54% fat... 3% vitiligo... there we go... that seems just." It's a very measured, almost sterile, way of creating.

Why is it that they're always "That Bitch" yet they retreat to a safe space and cry about hurt fee-fees when called out?

Also I'm sure they have a lot more "art" but i am too lazy to sift through all the Reeeeee Drumpf spergery to look for it.

:optimistic::optimistic::optimistic::optimistic::optimistic:
One of my most persistent hopes for the future is that LGBT can become much more apolitical. As in, there's not this direct link between it and a very specific leftist political dogma/line of thinking. (ex: non-binary doesn't really exist outside of politics) So I'm hoping that somehow there could be some Great Redemption and all the silliness can be thrown out the window where it belongs

Wait according to her you have to acquire a male attribute to be a leader?
technically, this has been observed in actual lionesses when a pride loses its male leader; not that in this context it doesn't sound fetishy, cuz it does, but it is factually based that some lionesses are able to take on male attributes when a pride lacks a threatening leader
