With the new post-tng Star Trek show announced with Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Picard, how hard do you think Wil Wheaton is going to push to be on the show?

I think he's going to be in a pretty tough spot, because he's obviously going to want to push hard to be on it, but at the same time it looks like the #woke crowd he runs with has already decided it's shitlordy for having another DANG DIRTY WHITE MALE captain, so him joining the cast to make it even more white and male (say, in the Chief Engineer slot, one formerly occupied by a black man) could sink his socjus cred.

I skimmed an article today that claimed the only reason Patrick Stewart is being brought back to a Trek show is to appease white males who were left out of Star Trek: Diversity.

Btw, that show is terrible.

Picard was easily the most pragmatic feminist of all captains. I don't see how anyone could complain about that.

And Discovery is pretty good when they aren't focusing on Michael. Lorka is easily one of the top 5 Trek characters and the best captain Since Sisko.

Rumor is that the new show is bringing back Picard as a way to ease the destruction and merger of the timelines because of licensing issues, something I can't imagine the fanboys taking too well. Wil may want on the show, but it will probably just make him even more reviled.

And STD is probably dead.

STD is doing well overseas last I heard because, big shock here, its on Netflix not CBS's private CBS-only stream.

Also because most of the command staff is some variety of nigger, so euro progs are required to watch.

LOL. Look at the little bitch boy act like he's got some kind of fucking leverage.

"Get rid of Jones or I'm taking my ball and going home!"

We all know you'll be back, Wesley. You're just like all the other SJWs on the internet - you can't stand not being the center of attention and posting out every stupid thought as if they were pearls of wisdom.

None of these people will stop whining until every social network is a ResetEra clusterfuck.
They won't even stop then, they'll just start bickering amongst themselves, trying to deplatform everyone for the slightest offense of wrongthink (real or imagined) and grab at each other's throat.

I don't want to derail the thread too much, so here's a good video on the situation:

tldr; However well it did on Netflix they weren't willing to fund the entire thing again, or even the majority. Along with licensing issues, Les Moonves' being in trouble and major production troubles it's not looking good. The fact the guy who wrote Tom Cruise's The Mummy is in charge of Star Trek as a whole is probably bad news for the franchise as a whole, really.
