Is Catfishing Bad?

so I've been doing this thing and I don't know if it's a good thing or worth my time or not.

I learned about gab.ai, the alt-right twitter, and checked it out. its a bunch of dumb really racist people that are just all really worked up about dumb things. a lot of them are really angry virgins seriously. but the site is so about free speech and privacy but I learned that the information there is only private as the people there choose.

so i started catfishing them. I made an account, with a cute girl name putting "virgin" in my profile and everything, made a bunch of posts pretending to be racist and hateful and totally in love with Trump. But then guys there started messaging me all eager to meet some girl and saying "can you call me? my phone number is..." or "add me on facebook at..." I learned that despite all of their hatred, they are just a bunch of dumb horny kids that will dox themselves if they think they're talking to a girl--it's just like kids on tumblr.

so do I dox them? what do i do with the personal information they send me?

"Will the outcome be funny?" is the only really important question that you ever need to ask in situations like this. In this case it'd probably be pretty funny because I'd bet good, hard money on most of them flipping out and screaming at you for being a "lefty double-agent" or something equally as ridiculous. If you don't have that as a guarantee, though, then I wouldn't bother even mentioning it, let alone doing it.

They wish horrible things on people all the time purely because of the colour of their skin. I don't tend to bring a scale with me to measure morality when I'm dealing with awful people. If they're smart, they won't do it again. If they're not smart, we get another thread. We either improve the world a little bit, or add another name to the Farms. What's the downside?

That could be funny, especially if I collect a lot and dox them all at once. since they are all conspiracy theorists and QAnon and flat earth, they'll think a "lefty double-agent" that doxxed a bunch is some greater evil thing. They would never admit that it was just their own desperation to get internet-laid, it would have to be some Jew secretly working with twitter to take them down.

Check which are over 18 years old and post them here, but only if they do something funny. Dox for the sake of dox are boring, bring us only the good stuff.

Leave minors alone, give them a chance to grow up.
EDIT: but if they do something funny, post it, just anonymise.

The downside? not all of them are adults. a few of them are just dumb kids that are like 13 years old. they don't know any better. should they be punished along with the adults that deserve to be humiliated?

I used to catfish on OKcupid because I was curious what messages women were receiving. I had access to a lot of Facebook style pics of this really busty Puerto Rican girl. Some were her in a bikini really showing off the hefty assets she had and others were normal clothed pics.

To circumvent reverse image searching I cropped out the dates (these were from like 06 so some had the classic date/time stamps that old pictures used to have) and then flipped the images horizontally, skewed them just enough that it wasn't noticeable, cropped out the skewed edges and tested each one on tineye and google.

Couldn't be traced that way. So I then wrote a normal profile.

Posted......and in less than 10 minutes my inbox was maxed out with all kinds of messages. Guys offering to be my slave. Not even joking there. One guy went into graphic detail on how he'd serve me.

What's the sad part was those were the fairly normal ones. Aside from the "Hey beautiful" and other two word messages, I was offered money for my hair, dirty lingerie that I had walked around in for a few days, and even offering to fly me to Bangor, Maine.

Let's just say I walked away understanding the kind of losers that message women on that site. I didn't even keep the profile up for more than 48 hours. I'd delete and block the two word message people and immediately get flooded with more messages about how they either wanted to be my slave or if I was interested in being one.

One guy went real poetic on the tata's of this chick. I had them screencapped but sadly the drive that I used on my laptop died and I lost them.

It was sad but also kinda hilarious what some guys will say thinking a girl wants to hear that.

Now, my answer to your question after that long story is, it depends. Are you really going to bother posting these idiots' information online? Is it worth it? Are you going to exploit them financially?

If the answer is no then no, it's not a bad thing. It can be a fun way to pass the time. Be aware that more and more people are are aware of catfishing now than they were when I did it roughly 7 years ago.

I actually got a guy who was too cool for the site. One of his lines in his profile was "I don't care if you like to travel, we all know it's bullshit. I'm just one here because me and my girlfriend are looking to have fun with one very lucky lady."

He messaged me and acted like he was doing me a favor talking to me. Not a terrible looking guy if those were his pics but he was really punching above his weight class here with the chick I used. I'm not into latin chicks normally (barring Salma Hayek) but damn this chick was pretty hot.

I had another one that was this fat 54 year old with a pic of his girl who was equally hideous that were both (if they were both talking like they claimed) begging to be used by me. I really regret that hard drive dying on me. I learned a valuable lesson about backing shit up from that point on. The time it took to screen cap and categorize them was quite a bit.

Also I did get several footfags. I don't get it. I mean sometimes feet can look nice but I don't get the obsession with them. They're gross and sweaty and stink most of the time. They seemed to want either pics of me smushing stuff or sweaty socks I had worn and not washed.

in the event that you're not "pretending" to be retarded this site isn't about doxing people you don't personally like to try to "punish" them because they "deserve to be humiliated"

we normally don't even bait people into doing anything, cows do it themselves

there doesn't seem like there's any comedy to be had in any of this
