Where it’s normal for a typical geek to equate geeky events to normal pop culture superevents (e.g. E3 is my SuperBowl) Bob equates geeky events to actual fucking history. We all know that Bob considers the first visual glimpse of Super Mario Bros 3 to be as important as the assassination of JFK and 9/11. So Gunn getting fired is as devastating to Bob as when Hillary lost.

This whole James Gunn situation really shows whats fundamentally wrong with Bob's "No bad tactics..." mindset.
What Gunn did or didn't do is irrelevant.
You see we have concepts of "Bad Tactics" and Fair Play because of if we didn't then all you get is a race to the bottom to see who can be the scummiest because if you don't do it to "Them" first then they'll do it to you.
It's the same reason we try not to introduce violence into politics because once you do it's a free for all. Not to mention once you remove good faith and universally agreed upon standards it's rather difficult to get them back.
Following Bob's standards to their logical conclusion only gets you a modern day reenactment of the Roman Patricians killing the Brothers Gracchi and their supporters.
This is usually self evident to anyone who isn't an obese sociopathic retarded manchild but as recent events have shown we are slipping in that regard.
So while today it might be punching "Nazis" or a capeshit director being fired but tomorrow it might be electoral fraud or even someone being killed. And from there it would continue to slip and decay until you reach the point of Revolution or Civil War.
