SJW Art and Extremes

Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

  • Suicide Girl model and America's Next Top Model contestant have it, spread on Tumblr, that's why.

i was scrolling down, i thought, damn that yellow one is weird but it's not that b-
then i see the purple one. the way she's drawn she looks like a terrible depiction of a trans woman who doesn't pass. seriously, what did OP think they were doing here....?
Maybe a similar thing to where obnoxious SJW try to "reclaim" idol games by making all the characters ugly and fat, since Mew Zakuro is a professional model? she's also 14~15 years old (Except for in Mew Mew Power which is the universally hated 4Kids dub, where she is 17)
I'd say maybe she was aged up except that all the other characters still look the right age...

Green being chubby makes sense. She's got whale DNA.
Of course they let the rich blue bitch who lives in a literal mansion be pasty.

The severely fucked up one is Bu-ling Huang (AKA Pudding Fong), who is Chinese, so it's pretty ignorant to give her a bean-mouth and fucked teeth. I assume that they wanted to go for that "sporty kid knocks out a bunch of their fuckin teeth" look but even that doesn't work because she's amazing at what she does. She supports a family of 5 siblings with her acrobatics act.

Mentioning her siblings, since we were just talking about Japanese racism in this thread I'd like to point out that even though Mew Pudding is a main protagonist the depictions of her family aren't always flattering (for example this image of her 4 brothers and 1 sister)

That's actually pretty funny, lol.
Japanese culture has quite an ingrained distrust of foreigners to it. Why the hell would it be normal for them to have a wide variety of characters who are not Japanese? They also have a long history of being extremely isolationist, only really accepting western influence post-WWII.
For the global appeal anime has. People of all stripes love anime, so it would be good marketing to make an anime that represents its audience.

Who the actual fuck is proud of being threatened with sexual assault and suicide attempts?
The same person who promotes being transgender as cool while actual transgender people I know fucking hate being transgender
I myself have gender dysphoria (not trans tho) and it’s not fucking fun

Japanese people don’t think like that. The foreign market for anime is growing all the time, yes, but Japanese media is made for Japanese people first and foremost. It’s a very American perspective to think ‘it has to be made for everybody’, because America has massive diversity and produces the majority of the world’s media. Not that I would object to more diverse anime, but a homogenous society that puts importance on everyone working together and blending in has no real reason to value diversity.

But aren’t there quite a few popular anime where the most of the characters aren’t Japanese? Like Attack on Titan, most of the characters are German I think. And I think the setting in Fullmetal Alchemist is based on Germany or something.

Consider Japanese history for a moment and the fact most of the non-Japanese anime characters you can think of are German.

I'm not saying they have to value diversity. I'm saying to make a diverse anime specifically for global audiences. Like Legend of Korra(i think thats diverse) but made in Japan and marketed specifically to a global audience, not Japanese audiences.
