I am legit cackling right now

God between Wil Wheaton's screaming tantrum over SJWs and the Nora Reed clan making fun of him on social media, Graham Linehan's continued rage crusade against the trannies trying to steal all his wife's lady-gold, and now Rian Johnson's "IM NOT MAD IM NOT MAD FUCK YOU IM NOT MAD!" spinning, todays been a good day for pampered faux-woke middle aged white guys being humiliated on the internet

Ya know maybe we should invite some SJWs here for a short truce so we can all toast marshmallows and laugh about it together

Rian Johnson is literally two or three tweets away from "My mom LOVED The Last Jedi, so what do those jerks from Milwaukee know!"
He seems like the kind of guy who would unironically call them hack/frauds and then flounce off social media when this ignites the internet in a firestorm of mad laughter

God bless the Hack-Frauds:

"they keep spreading and fueling hate they due more harm then good"

Jesus christ the shills for TLJ/Nu-Wars are now reduced to "STOP SPREADING ANTI-STAR WARS BIGOTRY AND HATE GUIZ! YOU ARE HARMING THE FRANCHISE!" whenever somebody mentions how shit the movie is

One thing to keep in mind is that the whole broo-haha about the dark side of the force and how unchecked bad emotions lead to suffering and how important it is to keep your cool, to do what's right even if that means doing detours and accepting slow progress... yeah, that's pretty good morals to actually live by. It makes sense. Everyone can relate to it.
How often do you end up in a situation where you are tempted to be rash and irresponsible just to get your desired result more quickly?
All these things about Jedi and Sith might not be super deep or applicable to everything, but they are very basic and good morals at their core.
Some people have been inspired by these values to strive to be better people, even.

What has Abrams or Johnson given us? Jack shit, that's what.
Again, for all their faults, the prequels tried to give us a believable descend from someone who wants to be a good person, who then falls to the dark side. Lucas tried to give us some ambiguity and make us relate to Anakin and his frustration and wrath, to make us understand why he went to the dark side.

What sort of morals do the sequels give us?
Luke, who used to be optimistic and full of hope has become a cynic who (even just for a short moment) wanted to kill a helpless, sleeping apprentice for no fucking reason. It doesn't even matter that it was just a spur of the moment that he overcame instantly.
What other morals are there? How about Poe's "Never question your superiors and do as you are ordered"?
Rey is the protagonist and she doesn't offer a single fucking thing in terms of morals. She just faces Sonichu-tier obstacles that she overcomes within seconds of bumping into them.

The morals of the OT were basically: take things slow, forgive people, don't be irresponsible. They were simple, basic, good morals to have and hold. Luke goes from a plucky optimist to a despair ridden wreck (Empire), to a wiser, forgiving man, (Return of the Jedi). He becomes a better person through his adventures, and becomes a Jedi through protecting his friends and allies with care, always being the hero, but never being brash about it. He loses his impatience and naivete, and even then, his adventure is filled with danger.

The PT's morals are that good intentions can lead to bad results, and that nobody should hold absolute power. They highlighted corruption, greed, and propaganda. They showed off what misinformation does, and how a hero can become a villain of his own volition, by protecting what he loves. (Anakin's impulsive protection of Padmé and his love for his mother were the catalysts for his fall to the Dark Side.) Yes, Anakin was manipulated and deceived, but he chose to remove Windu's hand, he chose to destroy the Jedi Order, and he chose, willingly, to bend the knee to Palpatine. Anakin was a prodigy who let his fame go to his head, and his desire to save everyone turned him into everything he fought to destroy.

The ST's morals are that you should follow orders, even when given to you by an unreliable, abuse, emotional wreck (Poe's arc), that sacrificing a group is best for your feelings (Rose), that true heroes never suffer (Rey), and that the past is stupid and should be forgotten (Kylo literally lecturing the audience).

Doesn't this sound like something a Sith would say? Obey your orders, despite your misgivings. You and yours are more important than others. If you fail, it is because you are weak, and because others hate you. The mistakes of the past are irrelevant, only your goal is just.

The Sequels are Sith propaganda. That's why people who don't even like Star Wars are confused and repulsed by them: because they teach people the antithesis of what a Jedi should do.

Every single bit of harm to the franchise has been self-inflicted.

Now it's been downvoted to hell and people seem to be liking the joke more. But really, these guys didn't have a problem arguing against the prequels and making Lucas look like a hack whenever it comes to defending Disney. Attacking the creator of Star Wars is fine, but having problems with what nu-Lucasfilm has done is bad? How hypocritical is that?

Some excerpts: "Bad and evil! Arguing in bad faith! Just like CinemaSins! How is this stuff not obvious to people? There's no doubt they've brought a ton of toxicity to the fandom. Prequel reviews have not aged well. !YIKES! I refuse to watch it."

Top comment excerpts: "The video pretty much ignores any talk of character arcs/development, acting, cinematography, because deep down, he knows the movie succeeds at these things." &
"It almost feels like Mike, in having to make an hour long video about TLJ, had to watch TLJ a bunch of times and maybe started to understand it, but just felt like he had to stick to his guns from his initial Half in the Bag reaction so he just ramped up the hyperbole."

Apparently RLM has to talk about the toxic fanbase as well, since they contribute to that environment.
I love it how these people ignore how the minds behind these products aren't blameless.
Of course, even one of the more favorable posts (iaswob) has to reference Patrick H Willem videos,
that elitist brainlet who thinks consistency and logic are totally unimportant for WRITING a movie.

It was nice watching Mauler and those furries tear Willems’ aurgument(s) to shreds. He is the fartiest of the fart sniffers
