I never understood it either. Even the original comic doesn't make sense to me.

Woman is racist against sea lions and the sea lion just wants a polite discussion about it?
I side with him.
It's the set & setting that vilifies the sea lion; the conversation begins on the street(?) in their steam engine, and the sea lion continues the polite yet unwanted interaction by following them to four other venues, most of them explicitly private places.

Expansion for Betrayal at House on the Hill (Complete)
She wrote one haunt scenario; two pages(one page in the traitor booklet, matching page in the survivor booklet) and non-specific input regarding other elements of the expansion(items, event cards, etc.) amidst a list of a dozen other contributors.

I decided to try and make a list of Zoe Quinn projects so far. Let me know if I missed any or if I got the order wrong.

* = Saw it mentioned skimming the thread or wiki, so not sure if it's real.

  • Porn Star/Nude Model/Stripper
  • Comedian*
  • Depression Quest (Complete)
  • Polaris Game Jam (Deliberately sabotaged)
  • Rebel Jam
  • Crash Override Network
  • Video debunking Bro Team Pill*
  • GamerGate Book (Complete (ghostwritten*))
  • Film based on the GamerGate book

I will mention for completeness sake that she apparently wrote her memoir and sold the rights to it, but I assume that's the gamergate book.
Forgot voice actress for a game.

Zoe "LEL SO RANDOM xDDDD" Quinn is Amy Schumer material.

Imagine pushing 30 and having the comedic repertoire of an awkward 16 year old girl.

So when she sued some guy for whining that he cucked her five times, that was just a joke? Or how about when she pretended a joke in Paper Mario was about her? Real knee-slappers, those.

Reactions: Brain Problems
You'd think after so long Zoe would get better at making her Retcons less noticable but it seems the opposite is true
I think she just realizes that no matter what she does, it has 0 negative consequences for her.

After doing so much shady shit, and being so consequently inept, she still is able to get money for free, and has jobs thrown at her because of who she is (and her willingness to put out for the right people).

Why even try?

That is exactly why it doesn't make sense if said "sealioning" is happening via public Twitter or other social media. Social media is not a private space by definition, and politely asking a question on social media cannot be a reference to this comic.

Even a private message hardly qualifies, as you can easily block a person, and sending a message is not the same as coming into your house.

I agree with you, but the reality you experience and the reality she experiences(or any hyper-liberal for that matter) are two wildly different things. When Alec Baldwin types a sentence into twitter & she reads it, he is literally taking a physical shit in her home uninvited. Their concept of "personal space" is not 2 feet around their physical body, but "anywhere I can see or here, regarding shit I don't like." The took the objective truth and spun a new story around it with a wildly subjective curve.

To the narcissist, Twitter is the best way to make everyone care about what they have to say. The minute things go against them, though, it's a highly exclusive forum with a reasonable expectation of privacy. No, they never question this apparent contradiction.

To a normal or even reasonable person the sealion is in the right, he's potitely calling her bullshit, but to a lefty or twitter user, the sealion is literally breaking an entering and harrassing them. Replace the sealion with a black guy, and you basically have what these lefties feel about anyone disagreeing with them

Added. Thanks.
I didn't know when that happened, so I guessed.

The original game wasn't any good anyway. Badly designed with no sense of balance. I heard the first printing had the underground lake in the attic, that's how shoddy it was. The expansion wasn't much better, being a who's who of internet nobodies from the clique. I'm not sure if it was her scenario, but there was one in that expansion that was a typical "fuck Drumpf REEEE!" style Twitter post in board game form.

When shouting at people they don't like: "It's a public forum!"
When those people talk back at them: "Muh mentions!"

Another aspect to the sealion thing is the whole "Well, the white/men who aren't a problem know I'm not taking about them when I saw I hate all whites/men!" line that gets tossed around. Not only is he "entering my personal space" but "he should know I'm not talking about him unless he is indeed the kind I hate".

It's silly.

♩ You're so vain, you think this slur is about you ♫

The thing that's struck me from the first time I saw that sealion comic is that if the woman decided to declare, "FUCK NIGGERS" while rolling down the street in her car, and some guy jumped up and clotheslined her out of the car before lynching her on the street, the same person would say that she deserved it. But being pushy about asking her to defend her publicly-announced opinion? That's simply intolerable.

The idea of sealioning is hilarious. It comes from this strange belief they have that Twitter is their private chatroom. They get so uppity with that "don't @ me" shit and act all bewildered when people jump into their conversations on an open, public platform.

for all the joking folks do about liberals needing to relate to everything via Harry Potter & Star Wars media filters, it makes me laugh to think that "sealioning" originates from a webcomic & "gaslighting" comes from a movie.

"Gaslighting" as a term pre-dates the movie it was featured in.

It was originally used to mention someone who became convinced that mundane events were the results of supernatural phenomenon.

Porn Star/Stripper

Her stage name was Locke Valentine.

I remember when she flipped her shit that people found out she posed for a third-rate Suicide Girls knockoff, and had her beta white knights and dangerhair allies screaming into the void that her private nude photos had been hacked and posting them was "revenge porn". Chelsea, honey, that's not private and it's only porn if someone can beat off to it. I wouldn't crank one out to those even as an act of spite. My dick has some standards.

Looks like Chuck Tingle is doing his weekly "I am not part of Project Tingle" twit sperging.

I wonder if her regrets touching the Chelsea Tar Baby?

One-note joke begins to discover it was a bad idea to hitch his wagon to Chlamydia van Valkenburg, film at eleven.

this was the version of Chelsea that stabbed a guy in the face, tried to force a female photographer to look at google image searches of mutilated vaginas or w/e and then didn't pay her for her work and claimed she was abusive. Once a BPD dumpster fire always a BPD dumpster fire.

From all those tweets. It seems (from the weird way Tingle writes - what's with that?) - that Tingle basically had a long twitter chat with Zoe and chucked some ideas at her via DM, then said "sure" when she asked if she could use said idea to make the game. Outside of that he's had nothing to do with any of the story or development.

He even goes on to note he's seeing no major money from the project until it's finished.

But the KS itself claims Tingle was going to be involved in story design and so on. I think he's been taken for a ride and Zoe's made off with that 85K to leave him to deal with the mob.
