@Stock Image Photographer To elaborate from the Comicsgate thread: Vox Day thinks Nordics aren't white because he thinks that "whiteness" consists of a combination of genetics and philosophical positions (that he claims are genetically-dictated) that (allegedly) shaped Western Civilization. Nordics don't display these traits (because Sweden is progtown), therefore they aren't White and so, in his ideal world, would be second-class citizens. This is distinctly better than the fate he has in mind for all non-Europeans, which boils down to "The race war is inevitable, so whites, led by the Anglos, should launch a first strike and be in a state of total war with all other races." The only reason he wouldn't advocate nuking every country outside of Europe and the US would be the loss of lebensraum.

For someone who loves to play at being a channer, he has awful thin skin, doesn't he?

Trademarking a hashtag aside someone explain to my why VD isn't "real Comicsgate" like YaboiZack and EVS is.

Vox wanted to purge SJWs from comics, Ethan/Zack wanted a purge of SJWs from comics. Vox kickstarted a comic to "give the real fans what they wanted!" and did it before either of them. "Comicsgate" as a name has predated Diversity and Comics.

How is Vox Day "co-opting" Comicsgate if he did literally everything they're doing before them?

>genetically dictated philosophical positions
My mind is full of fuck. Why didn't he just go with the stock white supremacist argument that only white people could have come up with those philosophical positions because they have superior brains or something? Anyone can hold a philosophical belief they didn't come up with if you explain it in a way they understand. He's somehow creating even worse arguments than neo nazis for reasons I can only assume are related to he himself being of Anglo descent and needing to feel superior.

He does that, but he also feels uncomfortable using that argument because then he'd have to acknowledge that, say, Communism came from a white man with a big brain, so he tries to claim that certain ethnic groups "inherently" behave certain ways and that the philosophies they develop are a result of that (so Communism is bad because Germans are lazy and greedy; probably not his actual argument, but I'm not going to pour through reams of pseud dribble to get an actual quote).

Anyone can hold a philosophical belief they didn't come up with if you explain it in a way they understand.
He insists that you can't really hold a philosophical position unless you can understand it on the level of the people who conceptualized it (this is his big argument against other races; even if you dumb down Western values for them, their pathetic brains will be incapable of understanding the underlying principles, meaning they can never assimilate).

He's somehow creating even worse arguments than neo nazis for reasons I can only assume are related to he himself being of Anglo descent and needing to feel superior.
Seeing that this was the man who came up with an autistic extension of the old "alpha/beta" system so that he could be a secret double alpha despite being very stereotypically "beta" in many aspects, yes.
I'll stop the recap here and encourage you to read the full thread; this guy's a real trip.

Comicsgate is a movement to get politics out of comics. Vox Day wants to get politics he doesn't like out of comics.

Say whatever you want of politics, but Vox Day is one of those guys who are into politics for the ego.

He isn't consistent enough to convince me he has any kind of coherent ideology at all. He's not only not terribly bright, at least compared to his opinion of himself, but continually Dunning-Krugers himself into areas he's too dumb to talk about. About the only thing Vox Day is consistent about is that he's always right and never wrong, even if he's contradicting what he just said five minutes ago.

And when did these become the parameters? I remember when he was actively shilling for his book and KiA couldn't get enough of the shit, that and Patrotika were supposed to save the entire industry. When did this "No no, it's about all politics!" shit begin? That was never the case on Reddit a year ago, and Reddit is where all of this shit always starts.

I think the same holds true for most internet intellectuals. Just because anybody can publish a book, that doesnt mean everybody is willing to put in the work to be an old school intellectual, abd even if they do one can't be all knowing. Of course being humble is not as good as trying to bait an emotionally motivated base into reactions.

He sells entertaiment ( as many online politics speakers ), not ideas.

Edited: removed double quote

This is probably why he's so obsessed with Jordan Peterson, who actually has put in the hours.

It's ridiculous for him to be obsessed with that guy, though, because Peterson isn't exactly in competition for the only people who would be Vox fanboys, which would be semi-retarded semi-Nazi edgelords who think Vikings are too subhuman to be really white.

I remember the tumblr that was into #comicsliberty. For better or worse, these kinds of movements just can't get off the ground until you've attracted a critical mass of normies to them. Vox needs to realize either he's always going to be niche and aim for that, or that he's done plenty to repel normies which hurts the cause.

By referencing bigger people he will appear more legit. Or at least, that is the general idea. It's a shittier way of the celebrity endorsment that advertising uses.

That would take humility, and a business model that doesn't depend on constant e-political drama. He likes to play the revolutionary.

On the other hand these things never accomplish anything unless they have some institutional support or at least some real big names supporting it.

In comic books a grass roota operation might work, because the audience is smaller but in video games and movies? nah

Yeah, grassroots works all the time in comics.

It's called webcomics. For an example, just look at the kickstarter the guy ran to reprint his Order of the Stick books.

You are right, but people who are most vocal just care about their own favorite brands. You can't just make Batman comics for example.

I start to feel pity for this guy. Whatever he undertakes blows up in his face due to his being unlikable and his over-sized ego. Well, at least he has a family: a loyal wife and from what I remember 5(?) children. So he accomplished at least one thing in his life.

Oh the reddit forum was having fun at his expense.

Yeah... starting a new business is when you realize that maybe you shouldn't have worked so hard to anger potential new customers and word of mouth friends.

EDIT: ok, i laughed at this comment on the video.

Yeah, I also sometimes think that he is a plant, because it's hard to believe that someone could be so stupid and self-defeating. However, it seems more likely that he loves to play revolutionaire extraordinaire, and so he tries to be as edgy as possible out-alt-righting alt-right into sheer nonsense (Nords as not white enough! my Nordic genes boil my blood! :) ).

Quite possible, that as every meek-at-heart beta he interprets every disagreement and annoyance with his stupidity as a proof of his power.

Alright, fair enough, let me refine my point; if politics are going to be in a comic, then they should be subservient to the story, not the inverse; in other words, the author shouldn't be shoving their politics down the throat of the consumer. This is the objection to the current state of comics, and Alt-Hero is more of the same.

Wasn't the main objection that it looked like absolute shit, just like the SJW comics do? Did anyone think it looked like anything other than complete trash with no purpose other than spewing retarded politics?

Looks like EVS is the new target.

The main reason it looks like complete trash, rather than forgettable detritus like most other not!Marvel comics, is that it stars EU Man as the bad guy, Confederacy Woman as the good guy, and, from what has been leaked, is about the Evil Foreign Hordes attacking the Pure Flower of White Christendom; in other words, the story is completely subservient to Vox Day lecturing you about his politics.
EDIT: as usual, Vox poos his nappies at someone not worshiping him.

For someone who loves to play at being a channer, he has awful thin skin, doesn't he?
In a word, yes. It doesn't take much to get him flinging poop, either; offering a differing opinion or view to him -- without any kind of personal element to it -- will trigger a furious response. He's completely incapable of having a civil conversation even on things he might hold ironclad stances on; possibly because his views are poorly reasoned or won't stand scrutiny.

Whatever JBP's faults might be, he seems to have thought through some of his ideas to an extent. For Teddy, though, philosophical introspection is for losers.
