so the newest pokémon games are not including the character customization from the previous ones. i've seen some people complaining that now you have to play as a white person. ignoring the fact that pokémon games are japanese in origin, like... ok... can you not just imagine your avatar to be non-white? is it really a big deal?

Really? Awww. That's a shame. Really liked designing my custom trainer and dressing her up, it was a lot of fun. That being said, every single Pokemon game before that had you playing a custom trainer; it could be seen as a step back, but I'm not really fuzzed.
This isn't the first time the SJWs have raged about the remakes. I can't find it, but there were a series of posts about how the Pokemon Sapphire remake was racist because *gasp* the bad guys have darker skin.

The Team Aqua thing is amusing to me because no one bothers to point out that they're only bad guys in Sapphire, and are good guys in Ruby. (Unless they changed that with the remakes . . . ?)

This is just sad. This person is not unique, they're not eccentric, they're not deluded or quirky and there's not a trace of SJW about it -- they're just insane. The personal meeting, the gang "attack", depersonalization of others through possession -- this person probably has schizophrenia.
At this point it seems wrapped up in some insane personal creation myth which is as harmless as they come (from what we see anyway -- I'm sure these angelic "incidents" were emotionally traumatic as they were happening), but it'll eventually crest.

I just read through a 26 comment "debate" on Facebook where people pretty much bitched out someone who suggested a travel restriction out of the areas of Africa where Ebola is running wild. Because that would be racist. We should instead let travel continue to flow freely as we treat and cure Ebola with the magical treatments we have for the white people!

I don't know of any anime that references to a "Soran", nor are there any references to it in any religion I know of. Still, I never thought they would take other kin so far that they would make up back stories. I just figured most other kin were "I'm (insert species)kin, shitlord are oppressing me, love me, kthx" and just leave it at that. But then again, this is tumblr...
