I think the sad part (or hilarious part, depending on your sense of humor) is that I'm almost 100% certain that reaction is a result of him realizing what that poster said is true. It's kind of fascinating to watch... like watching a blind man see for the first time or some shit. It's seriously like he had a moment of clarity and realized he dun goofed. Idk.

For those who don't want to watch the video, I'll quote the post for posterity's sake:

Aside from that, the "the only way I can get attention is by being bullied" quote makes me laugh. You used to get attention by excelling at a hobby that some people enjoyed watching. You were good at what you did, and people liked watching you do it. That logic makes absolutely no sense.

I genuinely believe he's a legitimate narcissist. The only reason he reacted that way was for pity points. He believes he's fine, laughing at the delusions people have about him. He's incapable of hating himself

Cosmo is lucky he's so irrelevant now. If there was an angry twitter gamer girl feminist who wanted to take a stab at starting a campaign to eat one of her own, I can't think of something more classically creepy sexist gamer nerd than this to get outraged over. Danger hairs have fought many battles over customization options because there are men who do this, and I don't even think his tranny status would fully save him from the call out.

Idk. I don't totally disagree, but I think there's more to it. I think he recorded this because he's a narcissist, and I believe he reacted so melodramatically because he's a narcissist. I think that's the exact reason why he does this, beyond his insufferable need to read anything ever written about him. He wants those pity points, and he wants the attention.

But I also believe that despite the overreaction, he reacted in the way that he did because the comment hit a nerve.

Seems to me it isn't quite so simple for most of these narcissists, they don't necessarily love themselves, it's more that they love a fantasy of themselves, and hate that reality doesn't match fantasy. In this case Cosmo loves the idea of himself as a girl, and he loves that fantasy version of himself unconditionally, problem is, that version doesn't exist, and he's stuck with the Gollum edition of Cosmo. A lot of these narcissistic trannies seem to do that, and that's certainly an underlying reason as to why they get so strident about pronouns and deadnaming (it's literal murder btw); it forces them back into the reality where they're a chubby man in a dress. Or in this case, a crazed looking beanpole in granny clothes.

Point being, I wouldn't rule out some level of self hatred, he's just redirected it by trying to make his fantasy reality. If he was ever honest with himself he'd probably break down --more then usual that is .

That's some pretty spot-on analysis, good job.

I think partially the gender dysphoria is also to blame for Cosmo's behavior, as most conditions like that have a few underlying conditions (Bad childhood? abusive relationship? poor parenting?). There are definitely trans people that are pretty normal, mind you, but Cosmo definitely isn't one of them.

If I had to take a guess, I would guess extremely poor parenting. He has serious Peter Pan syndrome, has no intentions of getting a job, and screams at anyone who gives him advice. A parent's job is to prepare their child for when they leave the nest, and Cosmo was not prepared, at all. New age parenting man, not even once.

Narcissism, despite the mythological origins of the term, is not about being infatuated with the reality of who you actually are. It's about, essentially, what you described: having an idealized, false version of yourself that you cling to... and being completely crushed when reality contradicts that ideal. True narcissism is by definition delusional and unsustainable. Narcissists, as an example, have an especially hard time with aging. Self-loathing is always the other side of the coin with narcissism.
